Well, in all candor, the two of them simply do not like each other. But alliances make for strange bedfellows, and McCain, who is the Democrat's favorite Republican, is an added plus to the Bush reelection campaign. But I wouldn't blow my horn too loudly here. It is an alliance of convience, more than likely.

True, but he's a real war hero, I think he'll really help Bush with Independents.

I always thought of McCain as a traitor and unreliable. He is an attention whore. You guys can keep him and enjoy his stabbing.

McCain certainly seemed to be delivering the most incisive commentary during the congressional inquiries about Abu Garib. And McCain as an ally of Team Bush? Wasn't McCain the guy who should have won the Republican party presidential nomination but for Team Bush's massive corporate support (McCain ran on a ticket of cleaning up political donations - something I bet Kerry won't want to talk about). McCain for mine (looking at this admittedly from far, far away) is one of the best politicians to enter US politics for a long time.

How can you call McCain a traitor, or back stabber by not accepting an invitation to become a VP candidate? Or am I missing something? I agree that he is an attention hound though. I think he would have grabbed it if he smelled victory, but a loss would trash his career, and again he is an attention hound.
