Full Version: Who Is The Next Vice President
Political Topics And Discussion > All Things Political > US Presidential Campaign 2004

Us partisan democrats are all abuzz about future Pres. Kerry's pick for future Vice Pres.
Who do you think he will pick? My heart says the smolderingly handsome and dynamic John Edwards, but my head says Gephardt could secure some key midwestern states.

BTW: You have to agree that Kerry has played the mystery like a pro. The interest in his pick is at a fever pitch, and it is all calling positive attention on our great future leader. I have a warm feeling in my heart that we are on the verge of overturning this very dark period in our great history, the period of the Bush regime will soon be seen in the same way we saw the evil McCarthy era of the 50s.

Current results from Atlanta Journal Constitution Poll --

Who do you think John Kerry will choose as his vice presidential running mate?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wesley Clark 2.22%
Max Cleland 1.80%
Hillary Clinton 8.04%
John Edwards 45.08%
Dick Gephardt 5.27%
Bob Graham 1.53%
Sam Nunn 4.58%
Bill Richardson 0.42%
Tom Vilsack 1.94%
Someone else 0.69%
I don't care who he picks. I'm not voting for him. 28.43%

Yes, most impressive, to say the least. This reminds me of an old saying that my Father taught me early on: "Tis better to be thought stupid, than speak up and remove all doubt." wink.gif

Perhaps your father forgot to mention that one to you?

My source is Matthew Dowd, Bush's chief strategist!
He says Kerry is soon to take a FIFTEEN PERCENTAGE POINT LEAD over his boss.
Oh, sweet victory awaits.
And revenge too. For the theft of the election of 2000.
BTW: Do you Einsteins realize NEVER IN HISTORY has a president who LOST THE POPULAR VOTE gone on to win reelection? It is a fact.

That could possibly be true, Thaiquila. It happened to his Daddy the first time around. Remember that one with another candidate from the Bay State? The more I think about this, the more I could appreciate the capture or death of OBL. Now, that would puncture the baloon in a hurry! wink.gif

"The Mounting Excitement" to be sure. Now that's it's Edwards, ho hum...Cheny will and is ripping both of them to shreds. Not of bit of credibility between either of them(Poodle & Shyster Lawyer)... dry.gif

What issues are important to you?
If you name some, I can tell you the differences between Bush and Kerry and you can decide whether to get excited or not.
It is true they are not that far apart about what to do about Iraq now. The difference will be that Kerry represents a fresh start in repairing relations with the many important countries that Bush offended.
Domestically, they are very different!
Of course, you can check out johnkerry.com and look at his stands on issues yourself.

Of course, frankly, the real excitement in the coming election will come from two things:
John Edwards dynamic campaigning and speaking style
The thrill of unseating the incredibly horrible "president" Bush ...

BTW: The close race is over. Kerry Edwards are really in position for a decisive electoral victory, taking all the Gore states, all the battleground states, and a good deal of the south, including FLORIDA.
Mr. McCain
I find it difficult to just say this race is "over" by any means, regardless of who you may want to win.

People won't even pay attention to the race until the kids are back in school and vacation is over. Then, they will check their pocketbooks and wallets, find out how we are doing in Iraq, and then make a decision.

While I believe this is not the way to make such a decision in whole, it pretty much reflects what happens. Be that as it may, I still believe the kitchen table debates have to take place before we can comfortably say what will happen.

The note from the Bush campaign about a Kerry surge is very smart, and quite correct historically. It tells the Bush peole what to expect and not to panic over it, as this typically is a cyclical reaction after a VP choice and convention. It was in noway an acknowledgement of loss or worry.

Lets sit back and watch the fun, lets see John Edwards honeymoon end before we get all excited and start throwing barbs about it. We have a long way to go boys and girls!
