I think I will beat the right wing weenies to the punch by posting this hilarious picture:

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...r4086761383.jpg

The right wingers are deluded to think that these silly images of Kerry in a space suit will damage Kerry politically in the way the famous Dukakis in a tank helmet pictures seriously hurt Dukakis.

News flash:
It will not work.
Why?
Kerry is NOT Dukakis.
The times are totally different.
Kerry is a war hero.
Our current "president" acted like a coward during Vietnam.
The only thing Kerry and Dukakis have in common is that they are both Massachusetts pols.

So I do hope the desperate Bush campaign which is now in its death throes wastes money trying to exploit these silly pictures. It will not help them. They are sunk because the American people are in a mood to FIRE THE BATARD.

I saw it long time ago (internet time) but decided not to post it as it's too riduculous to pass on... wink.gif

TQ:

While it may puff up your ego to think I am really concerned about entertaining you, let me state unequivocally that amusing you is not my intent, purpose or goal in life.

If you find my posts so offensive, perhaps you should merely exercise your right of freedom of choice and stop reading them.

My ego won't suffer either way. laugh.gif

An excellent idea. "Matching jammies" has nothing to do with any relevant issue.

What's that movie that has,............oh what's that little Jewish movie maker fellow's name? He did all the politically correct movies, divorced his wife, and married their adopted Korean daughter.

Anyway, he played in a movie, "Everything you Ever Wanted to Know About Sex", or something like that. In the movie he plays the part of a sperm cell. And he was decked out just like JFK the lesser. What the RNC needs to do is put them up together and ask just which sperm is best able to reach the "egg" prize first. Now that would definately beat the "helmet and tank" fiasco in 1988. wink.gif smile.gif

D2, when are you going to go out and purchase a little dose of "humour"? smile.gif
d2d2
It's like the Enron books, is has been cooked, doctored, it isn't real. That's mostly what my problem is.

I'm certainly not opposed to humor, maybe I just expect a higher standard.

The intent of the "jammies" comment was to be demeaning, not humorous.

How do you know? Can you read minds? And don't you think that it is better to give someone the benefit of the doubt?

You sure have me fooled here. But then again, I'm not perfect either, but I learned years ago that taking life too seriously does not make life easier. Nor does it tend to set higher standards either. smile.gif

Now, you know very well, that when I agree with you, I will tell one and all. But when I disagree, I am not afraid to say so either. And I don't care whether you are a moderator or not. The problem here is that everyone else is afraid to do so, so I have to carry the standard. wink.gif

As an update on this subject, NASA has acknowledged that a pool photographer indeed took the photos during Kerry's visit. However, the pictures were given to the Kerry staff for approval prior to release.

So, this means that someone within the Kerry for President staff is really working for the Clintons. Remember that the Clintons do NOT want the Poodle to be elected this time around. They want Hillary to run in 2008.

Whether or not you wish to believe this is of no concern. But if you think that it will not happen again, don't hold your breath. Get ready for a one sided shoot-out this summer and fall.

So, think of this: a picture of Kerry and Bush in the ring with the gloves on and circling each other. Look down, behind Kerry, and there is Bill and Hillary with a Crook around one of Kerry's ankles, just waiting to trip him up.

And this may not really be needed. The Republican convention is in August, followed by the 9/11 anniversary, which is going to be Big! And who is going to be the featured person at the center of all this. If you said Kerry, you Lose!!! biggrin.gif

d2d2 Are these pictures intended to be humorous, or demeaning? Are they doctored? Just wondered.
d2d2
Even I, who have been accused of being humourless, laugh at the 3 stooges. Are these pictures doctored? Yes, in the sense that they are wrongly identified as Bush, Cheney and Powell. So what is the point here? What is the issue you want to address? If there is no issue addressed, what prevents it from being entirely personal and demeaning? Political cartoons do that, if only by representing their subjects as comic strip characters. That is okay because the political cartoon in your newspaper must make it's point and address an important issue. But these 3 stooges don't say anything, don't get banged on the head or poked in the eye, so where is the humor?
Boon Mee
For once I agree with the "humorless" d2d2. The three stooges post was intended to demean and has nothing to do with current political events. Not like the NASA photo as John pointed out, was released by the Democrats.

There is no humor. It is only demeaning. There is more than mislabeled names at issue. The pictures are of Bush, Cheney and Powell doctored to look like the Three Stooges. It is not a cartoon.

I think the picture of Kerry is hoaky, and hopefully makes the rounds like the Tank picture did.

Yea he might look goofy, but he got to go inside a space shuttle. I am extremelly jealous!

And we used to wear those suits in the lab all the time. One time we had a hexaflourine chemical delivered.... the bottle was about the size of a men's cologne bottle, about 100mLs, and was the only package in a semitractor trailer. laugh.gif The chemist who had ordered it, had to get it out of the trailer, the driver wouldn't touch it, and my lab mate suited up in his environmental suit, gas mask and all. It was hilarious! He comes walking in with this little box at arms length, sounding like Darth Vader, and another lab mate walked up to him, no suit, no mask, no gloves and just grabbed the box and took it over to the hood. It was such a classic T moment. That poor guy, he was so anal about everything. He was amazed my partner and I worked with all these carcinogens (chemotherapeutic drugs, ha ha!) everyday and hardly ever wore gloves. I swear if you swabbed those lab counters down, there wouldn't have been a toxic free zone in the whole place!

Anyway I digress, Kerry looks excited and happy, and yes a little goofy, but who wouldn't for a chance to crawl around something that's been in outer space? I'd wear pink fuzzy bunny pajamas for an oppurtunity like that!

d2d2:

While this will probably get me banned, I resent the implication that you are capable of reading what I "intended" to accomplish with my post. My original "intent" was to add some humour to a particularly ridiculous picture. Senator Kerry was the one that was demeaning by having the picture taken in the first place. I am sorry my attempt at humor did not rise to your standards.

Your crystal ball malfunctioned on this one.

I would also like to suggest that you either resign as a moderator or cease posting on these politically charged pages. Either be a moderator or a chump like us....but please do not try to be both.

what is demeaning about that picture? lol.

it's a photo-op, just like George Bush's "Mission Accomplished" aircraft carrier landing..

the only difference is, John Kerry's photo-op didnt cost American taxpayers $1 million dollars.

Huey, you are demonstrating that your knowledge of economics is lacking. Usually Presicents come in on a huge specially built 747, or arrive in a special aircraft that, on the books, costs out to an astronomical price.

In this case, the President came in on a supply aircraft making a regular run on top of that. The only extra costs were the presense of two Secret Service agents in the rear seat. But then again, there would have been more than two if the President had arrived on his special aircraft.

The economical upshot is that by flying in on the Navy supply craft, he SAVED money for the visit.

GET IT? wink.gif
Huey_P
well John L, that would be a good point...... IF IT WERE RELEVENT TO THE DISCUSSION.

the point isnt WHAT Dumbya flew in on.

its the fact that he flew in for NO REASON other than a stupid macho photo-op, thus making it a huge waste of tax payer money REGARDLESS of wether he flew in on a 747, a fighter jet or a magic carpet.

and please dont give me the same old "he was declaring the mission accomplished!" line..

obviously the mission was far from accomplished, since nearly twice as many troops have died since May 2 2003 than before... that "mission accomplished" line was nothing more than yet another aspect to the stupid photo-op.

he also could have easily chosen a CHEAPER format to make his fake declaration of "mission accomplished", but instead he opted for the expensive photo-op on an aircraft carrier.

bottom line is this: John Kerry may have looked silly, but no sillier than George "AWOL" Bush flying in on a aircraft carrier in a fighter jet to declare "mission accomplished" to a war that was just beginning..... AND AT LEAST IT DIDNT COST US $1 MILLION

GET IT?

Huey, we could run a cost comparison with GW and Clinton, and check out the frequency and costs of each. I would be willing to bet an arm or a leg that there is no comparison between the two. Everything was all about Clinton, and nothing was too costly to make him look great.

But I'm sure that that was before your time and thus ancient history, right? And besides, he may be a ######, but he was, and still is, our ######. cool.gif

i have no doubt that Clinton spent money unnecessarily...
the only difference is, he had a balanced budget rather than a $500 Billion defecit.

in no way do i think Clinton was a perfect saint.

but thats not the point, because

CLINTON ISNT ON THE BALLOT THIS YEAR

laugh.gif

we are voting for either George Bush or John Kerry (or Ralph Nader if your conscience just wont allow u to vote directly for Bush).. Clinton has nothing to do with it.

its funny that u justify Dubya's actions by using Clinton, a man u despise.

if Dubya is somehow justified by Clinton, wouldnt that by default put Dubya & Clinton in the same category?

sounds like u should vote for Kerry.. he's not like Clinton OR Dubya. ph34r.gif

Why should I despise Bill Clinton? You obviously never bothered to read any of my posts about him. He is a good old boy, and I would probably enjoy his company. But that still doesn't change the fact that he is a sociopath.

And unlike you, I am into logic, not emotions. Because if you were, you would act logically. Perhaps with a decade or two under your young belt you will look at things differently. But,.........maybe not. biggrin.gif
Huey_P
once again, u are dodging the issues and making personal comments about me rather than the issues.

lol.

its ok though.. i can see we've reached a stalemate, and i know deep down John Kerry dressed in that funky suit does nothing to change your opinion of him one way or the other, and the same is true with me.

which means, as ive been saying all along, that picture is basically a non-issue.

MODERATORS, i think we can close this thread now, and be happy that it didnt end with name-calling and petty argument. smile.gif

Over time you will learn to realize that communicating with John L in any way is just not worth the bother.
