Full Version: Kerry's Support Weakening
Political Topics And Discussion > All Things Political > US Presidential Campaign 2004
Gop 4 life!
Before the insults from the socialists start flying, let me explain.

This also deals with Kerry's bounce, or lack there of, so this poll has some actual relevance.

The fact that his support is weakning during his convention, makes this poll worthy of being posted.

High-Stakes Convention
Poll Shows Support for Kerry Weakens on Issues and Attributes

Analysis
By Gary Langer

July 26, 2004— The critical convention season begins with John Kerry losing momentum at just the hour he'd like to be gaining it: President Bush has clawed back on issues and attributes alike, reclaiming significant ground that Kerry had taken a month ago.

ABC News/Washington Post poll, including terrorism, Iraq, taxes and even health care. And Kerry's ratings on personal attributes — honesty, strong leadership, consistency, empathy and others — have softened as well.

Sampling, data collection and tabulation for this poll were done by TNS.

The bottom line has shifted only very subtly. Head-to-head, the Massachuestts senator has slipped from a slight lead in late June to a dead heat today, with 49 percent support for Bush and 48 percent for Kerry among registered voters. Including Ralph Nader, it's 48 percent-46 percent-3 percent.

His loss is inevitible. The truth will be his downfall and he will be confused as to what he did wrong because it will never occur to him that he even lied. To the liberal, rewriting history is so normal they don't even know it is dishonest.

Its going to continue to be an intense race. I don't mind if you post polls that you like, just stop being a hypocrite when the polls show you are losing (and most of electoral analysis studies are showing).
Lets wait until a week AFTER the convention, and AFTER the BIG KERRY SPEECH, and then we will see who has the momentum, eh?

GOP, after all the recent criticisms I must confess that you have hit a home run on this one. I had heard about it on Rush today, but you beat me to it.

Life is a B-itch when you peak too soon. No matter how small the peak. cool.gif And even Thaiquila is implicitly expressing concern. Now, that's news!! cool.gif

I've gone back and combed through the ABC News article above and I conclude that things indeed are beginning to look dark for Kerry in the immediate future. The Dick Morris article that I posted day before yesterday also parallels what is being stated here. The issues the Democrats are standing on for this election cycle are in the process of crumbling from under them.

And what is interesting is that it is happening as if in slow motion. You know it is happening, you see it happening, but the full impact hasn't hit everyone yet. If this continues, there will only be one issue with which the Democrats can attempt to exploit: hatred for Bush. And in the long run, that will simply not get you across the finish line first.

You simply have to give voters something positive to look forward to. If the economy is quickly improving, if Iraq is settling down with pacification looking more evident all the time, if jobs are coming back in a rush, if these jobs also include good paying ones, what do you have to run on? Clearly hatred is not the way.

The only thing that I see as a viable alternative is the Kennedy strategy of 1960. And if you listen closely to Kerry, you can begin to see this as the path that Kerry is slowly turning to. He has no other choice. But does he have enough time to do this? And, is he up to the job?

Stay tuned! News at 11! cool.gif

I heard this on Rush also and this article is a homerun... When it comes down to the basic American principles that guide us, the majority of Americans see the Democrats for exactly what they are. Thai is right in one respect, one week after the convention ends, the cold hard truth will start to set in when no post convention spike hits. This is when the liberals will become ravenous beasts and pit bulls biting at the heels of the President which will further alienate the voters. It is going to get ugly but in November, the people will speak from all walks of life, and the Liberals will curse God and America as they revert into the whining losers they are.

Now Thai, because we know you and feel sorry for you, if you repent now and convert to the American way of thinking, we will welcome you back into the fold as the prodigal son you have been. We understand you have been emotionally and mentally abused and forced to believe these things by a solialistic school system and secular humanist professors, so come home now my son and we will teach you all that you must know to walk tall and with confidence once again. rolleyes.gif

I wish to make this official, first and foremost, for all of you out there. Ali and I are not one and the same person. If our styles and humour are similar, it is purely per chance. wink.gif

It is nice to know that IF I accept the new job opening here, I can rest assurred that my crusade will continue in good hands.

You are fighting a lost cause, just as your misguided support of the "president" is a lost cause. Chances of me converting to your point of view: ZERO.
