Contrary to what the right wingers would have you believe the economic news is a mixed bag, some good, some bad, as evidenced here:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/artic...-2004Jul28.html
Given that is a mixed bag, its importance in the election campaign will be diminished.
However, for the advantage of Kerry, there is a lot of real life sentiment on the real life streets of America about the PAIN that has been caused by GW Bush, namely:
-- significant NET LOSS of millions of jobs over the course of the regime
-- reduction or stagnation in pay (NOT keeping up with inflation) for those who are working
-- new jobs of a much lower QUALITY than the jobs created during the MAGICAL CLINTON BOOM YEARS
-- access to health care radically worse under Bush, before Bush about 30 million people without access, after Bush, about 44 million, this tranlates into tens of thousands of PREVENTABLE AMERICAN deaths each year, a MUCH BIGGER tradgedy than the deaths from the Al Queda attacks
So, there is lots of very credible ammunition for Kerry to go after the Bush ECONOMIC FAILURES.
