.... unlike the rest of the major media outlets...

The Democratic Party is partnering with MoveOn.org, People for the American Way, Campaign for America's Future, and dozens of other groups representing millions of Americans to organize a massive public mobilization. On Wednesday, May 14, join us by calling and emailing your representatives in Congress to let them know that the majority of Americans oppose more irresponsible tax cuts that go overwhelmingly to the wealthiest sliver of Americans. “

“Americans stand with the Senate Democrats
Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT), ranking Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, took a short break from the 30-hour Republican hypocrisy-a-thon to come and see the results of the DNC's petition drive. We collected more than 310,000 signatures and comments from Americans who stand with Senate Democrats in the fight to keep ultraconservative ideologues off the federal bench.”

DNC Chief Operating Officer Josh Wachs (left), Senator Leahy, and Zack Exley from Moveon.org pose with the more than 310,000 signatures.” (see second picture down on the site)

The DNC is also conducting a major petition drive in partnership with MoveOn.org. More than 310,000 Americans have signed the petition to protect our courts — with more than 172,000 of those signatures coming in the past 36 hours. The petition calls on Bush and the Republicans to stop nominating judges that are out of step with mainstream Americans and praising the Democrats for standing up for their rights.”

The "Mother" of All House Parties
The East Bay for Kerry/MoveOn House party on December 7th combined the forces of two grass-roots organizations based in San Francisco East Bay Area. We had 200 guests eating, drinking, and watching the MoveOn Documentary “Uncovered” featuring Joseph Wilson and Rand Beers from the Kerry campaign.
When Teresa Heinz-Kerry arrived, she handed me a pin that read in the center: “Asses of Evil” with “Bush”, “Cheney”, “Rumsfeld” and “Ashcroft” surrounding it. She met, greeted and talked to a jam-packed room of Kerry supporters and others who came for the MoveOn documentary. Many were curious, others undecided, or belonging to other candidate camps.
Teresa talked about her life as the daughter of a physician in Africa, about life during a repressive regime, to life inside Washington DC, and a brief intimate glimpse into her courtship with John. She told a rapt crowd about how they met and their first date, and that he did not call again for six months, adding, “He was slow on the uptake”. Just as she was about to add more to the story, the phone rang. It was the Senator.

You can read more for yourself here…. http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2...23/153719.shtml

I went out and got the actual sites mentioned in preparation for Huey’s predictable comments on the bias of NewsMax….They all come directly from the DNC webpage...

This one I found particularily interesting:
“MoveOn's Link to Kerry and Cahill
• A reader from New Jersey sent this e-mail he received on July 22 that shows MoveOn's ties to Kerry and his campaign manager, Mary Beth Cahill. “

please search for it at the bottom of the page.

You will not sway Huey Louie, as he is a true fanatic. And as my signature states below, he cannot change his mind, nor will he change the subject. wink.gif

Huey and his romance novel posts are only worth a good laugh, now and then. Fortunately, he isn't dangerous: yet! cool.gif

Huey_P
ok, so what have we established here?

that both candidates are using 527's?

so?

that isnt the issue.

but im glad u republicans have resorted to the "well theyre doing it too!!" excuse.. i'll interpret that as an admission of guilt smile.gif

so now that weve established BOTH parties are utilizing these 527's, lets start holding the candidates accountable for what the ads have said.

Bush is now accountable for the SwiftVets, which is the most atrocious, slanderous, libelous commercial out... and one that accuses John Kerry of numerous unsubstantiated indiscretions in VietNam.. while Bush didnt serve AT ALL.

so who is George "AWOL" Bush to question John Kerry's military service?

lets also look at the fact that only ONE candidate has had the balls to stand up and condemn ads which hit below the belt.. and thats John Kerry.

when is Bush going to stand up for something and stop hiding in Crawford?

That's right. The real issue is just which side is the biggest hypocrite about this, and except for a few, such as yourself cool.gif , people of logic can see the difference.
Huey_P
no, the issue is THIS specific ad which is libelous and slanderous.

527's are ok. Kerry has never spoken out against ALL 527's, because they are a legal way for voters to express their freedom of speech.

why does Bush want to take away these people's freedom of speech?

who's the bigger hypocrite?

let's see here..

Bush, as most Republicans, has been a master of SOFT MONEY.. it was HIS soft money campaign and HIS dirty ads which inspired the McCain-Feingold bill in the first place..... now he's touting it as one of his achievements? get the f### outta here.

Bush, who just a couple days ago said "let's stop ALL the 527's", is now saying "we defend the right of the SwiftVets to speak their mind"... which one is it George? either u want to stop their freedom of speech by banning "that ad, and all the other 527 soft money ads", or youre defending their freedom of speech?

cant have it both ways Dubya.

oh yeah, and who is the only candidate that has had the balls to condemn SPECIFIC ads which cross the line?

hint: it wasnt George Bush (or Ralph Nader) lol.

face the facts. Bush is an AWOL slime who is trying to underhandedly attack John Kerry's vietnam record.

Let Me Make One Thing Perfectly Clear

John Kerry, speaking Tuesday in Philadelphia:

"The truth, which is what elections are all about, is that the tax burden of the middle class has gone up while the tax burden of the middle class has gone down," he said.

John L, I do not see Huey as a person of logic, I see him as a politician who is campaining. He is kind of like an Al Sharpton, except without a nomination. Yes, the Al Sharpton of the Bearpit. I also, imagine Huey as a black preacher, laying the ebonic sermon upon his congregation.

Niagra, I can "dig" that. Perhaps Huey will see fit to include the Reverand Al into his list of revolving avatars. Now, If I could just find that Rush Limbaugh parady on "Reverend Al". That is a true killer! biggrin.gif
