Full Version: Is John Edwards Fit To Command?
Political Topics And Discussion > All Things Political > US Presidential Campaign 2004

Kerry’s first decision as a president to be should tell a lot about what his other decisions will be based on….politics and show.

His slippage in the polls prior to his selection of a running mate dictated he pick some one flashy and energetic for persuasive reasons. For real reasons though he would have been wiser to pick someone who might actually have a clue how to lead the country in a time of war should anything happen to himself. We are at war, Mr Kerry.

John Edwards has no experience in anything except swaying juries to award unrealistically large sums of money to accident victims thus running up insurance rates of all types….automobile, health, malpractice etc.
He has never once led a group, not even something as simple as Freedom Fry fryers at Burger King...unless you count jurors. rolleyes.gif

Edwards has no military experience…even after Kerry made it the major important issue.
Four years as a Senator, two of which he spent trying to run for president and now VP.
That’s all, folks!

So Kerry botches his first big decision, picking a second in command, by putting the major need – competence if disaster strikes – in a lower priority than political needs.

Now, please Michael Moore wannabees....let's just talk about Edwards' qualifications to lead the country in war time or Kerry's decision making motivations here...let's not make comparisons to all others in the past, nor about Cheney who has already had his turn being disected.

Don't forget that as far as Edwards Senate reelection hopes in North Carolina went, he and the Dems knew he didn't have a chance to win it. So come January, he was out of Politics anyway. Mark my words, Kerry/Edwards will lose in N.C. in November. If his own State doesn't trust him, why should America ? wink.gif

What about Dick
"I had other priorities (during Vietnam)"
'I set records for gutting defense until they hired me'
'Now Halliburton deserves this no bid, secret contract!'
"Go Fcuck Yourself"
Cheney?

Is this a guy you want meeting world leaders? Oh wait ... Yall don't care about other world leaders .. thats right. Never mind. Do - carry on.

You voted for Bush in 2000, right? Edwards has 4 years on the security council, which is a very heady, powerful job. GWB had a few years as Texas 6th most powerful politicians. (In Texas, the Lt. Governer has all most of the power) You didn't seem to worried about his experience then.

And you really want to bring up the military records? 2 draft dodgers vs 1 military hero and one guy who didn't have a war in his time?

Leading experience? man, thats really rich. You are showing some amazing flexibility with that stretch. You should try gymnastics!

And there is a reason I brought up Dick Cheney - and that is you are making a comparison. How, on God's green earth, does Dick Cheney's record outshine Edwards? Its nice that you've preemptively admitted that the guy is a slimebag, though, and that Kerry is qualified to lead. Small steps, small steps. We'll have you back to cogency in no time.

Mister U!!!! U Really Can't Read can U?

From my first post in this thread!

Now please try to come up with some support OF your side that doesn't involve MM's Pee Wee Herman baby games of "I know you are but what am I". If you can't then I will assume you have nothing good to say about your side! rolleyes.gif

"Over the years, trial lawyer John Edwards won more than $60 million in damage awards. Put differently, he alone added $60 million to the cost of medical care." -- Thomas Sowell
