And now for a breath of fresh air.
A NON PARTISAN post from Thaiquila!
Everyone concerned about the future of America should read this article. This is a very serious situation, and NEITHER party is addressing it AT ALL:

Obviously, neither one of you actually read the article if you responded that way.
Incredible. According to the article, there is an excellent chance that we are headed towards an Argentina style financial crisis. Both candidates, for obvious reasons, don't want to talk about it, but when it happens, the changes in America will make 911 look like a garden party.

I have learned not to expect anything from intellectual lightweight bush zombie Cleo, but I actually was hoping for some reason from mad John on this one.

Not too big a surprise, really. Its so much more "fun" to gossip about the state of word processing in the 1970s. Does anyone seriously doubt that the American empire is in SWIFT DECLINE? Good thing that I love fish head curry!

Actually, I did read it. But up front you state that this is supposed to be a nonpolitical subject, and I decided to keep it that way. Besides, I'm going to bed anyway. I'm sleepy. smile.gif

You must be tired.
I said NON PARTISAN, not NON POLITICAL.
It points out the weakness of BOTH parties and indeed of our system to face a impending crisis like this.

TQ, the only good, long term approach is a market approach. Unfortunately you Collectivists are he11 bent on ramming the State run system down everyone's throat(single system). It is wasteful, and does not give the individual citizen the power to use it as he/she wishes. You would rather have the State determine things.

So, I'm not going to rise to the bait any more. I'll let you and others chase your tails here.

Out!

It seems to me this impending crisis is BEYOND john's ideological crutch world view (collectivists vs free market). We are heading for a train wreck and neither party will touch it. It is interesting that this issue doesn't seem to concern the right or the left here. Apparantly, everyone is only interested in the sleaze fest election and the horse race.

Hi Cleo,

I have a question about your educational level. I am guessing you are a degreed person. What is curious is how you acheived that without having any skills in critical thinking.

Oh dear, Huey....that is indeed a record! Compact Disc is just the device from which to play whatever is on the record on a compatible appliance.
Record takes it's name from reCORD....stress on CORD instead of RE. Any recording is a record of that recording. From that we get vinyls, CDs etc.

Music artists always refer to their work as records, which you then purchase on whatever playing device you choose. They don't say, I made a new CD. However, marketing will advertise a new CD being out because they made the record onto a CD and the artist might say my new CD is out. But it's still a recording and therefore a record.

You degreed, in the plural sense. And if by critical thinking you mean your warped views, no I never learned to think like that... I learned how to think logically.... long before I ever got my first degree. My point? Real is not a by-product of gaining diplomas/degrees/ education.... you either have the capacity, or you don't.... and you don't, sorry. biggrin.gif
Boon Mee
He wishes he could think logically like Andrew Sullivan! laugh.gif

So Cleo, Miss Logical, what do you think about the issues about the impending FINANCIAL CRISIS talked about in the article I posted? You are the one who started the personal attacks on this string, rather than bother to address the issue that was presented.
