This is simply amazing! The Dems are not going to give up on this turkey! This is only the fourth, fifth, or sixth(?) time they have attempted to beat this dead horse. It is getting to the point where they are turning off the public. So why do they continue attacking Bush's National Guard record?

Insanity, that is what. Insane hatred! And the one good piece of advice that Clinton gives them, they pointedly ignore.

NC TO LAUNCH FRESH ATTACK ON BUSH GUARD DUTY: WILL RAISE QUESTIONS ABOUT 1978 CAMPAIGN LIT

**Exclusive**

Faster than a CBS eye can blink, dogged Dems are set to take to the airwaves anew hoping to keep questions about President Bush's National Guard duty in play, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

Candidate Kerry apparently has rejected former President Clinton's advice not to get further locked in a 2004 Vietnam quagmire.

"George W. Bush's campaign literature claimed that he 'served in the U.S. Air Force.' The only problem? He didn't," slams a new DNC press release set for distribution.

Dems will attempt to increase the heat on Bush ahead of his planned Tuesday address before The National Guard Association gathering in Las Vegas.

In 2000, Bush opened his National Guard Association speech: "General, I am reporting for duty."

Kerry plans to speak to the group on Thursday, but he personally hold back questioning Bush's service, sources explain.

The coordinated nationwide effort this week by the DNC has been code-named "Operation Fortunate Son."

"George Bush has a clear pattern of lying about his military service," DNC Communications Director Jano Cabrera blasts in the new release. "From 1978 to the present day, George Bush has refused to tell voters the truth about his service. It's time for the President to come clean."

"Flyers distributed to Texas voters during Bush's failed Congressional race say 'he served in the U.S. Air Force and the Texas Air National Guard.' But according to Air Force officials, Air National Guardsmen are not counted as members of the active-duty Air Force."

This active duty status thing is a fart in a hurricane thing. When I was on active duty, there were NG(National Guard), ER(Enlisted Reserve), ER(draft personnel), and RA(Regular Army). They were all on active duty, and for all intents and purposes, while active, there wasn't a dimes worth of difference between them. Although I was technically in the Active Reserve, I was still active duty Army.

To make an issue out of a nonissue, is amazing in that if this is all there is, why aren't they addressing the issues? Could it be because the issues will also sink JFK, the lesser?

This has simply got to be Clinton's use of 'reverse psychology' here. Tell them to do something, and get your 'boy' Terry McAufull to help torpedo kerry.

I am truly mystified here. So, don't anyone tell me that the Clintons are not actively saboutaging the Kerry campaign. Jeez! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

PS: This will further enhance Clinton when Kerry loses. He can shrug his shoulders, and state "I told him so". And all the time the Dems were doing exactly what he really wanted. wink.gif

That's just Kerry's way of finding out if anyone cares if he said he was in the Navy when he was really in the Navy Reserves. So this brings up a fine thought....does Kerry always accuse Bush of what he himself is or was doing? wink.gif

They seem to be doing it to distract from some other significant events over the weekend:
1. the 9/11 rememberance( they still can acknowledge the reality of that)
2. the viet vets for truth rally in front of congress http://kerrylied.com/ order the video it was a enlightening event.
3. the fact that Dan Rather is finally hopelessly hosed! laugh.gif

Bob, there could be something to what you are saying here. It very well could be an attempt to shift the interest away from the CBS/60 Minutes fraud connection with the DNC. However, if so, this will come out in a couple of days and hurt them further.

I really relieve that this is the reverse psychology that I mentioned above. I know that I have pushed the Clinton connection with Kerry's demise, but I am convinced that both of them just have too much incentive to do so. They simply cannot allow Kerry to enter office. Otherwise, Hillary would have to stage an in-party revolt somewhere halfway through the Kerry administration.

If you consider the number of Clintonistas who have been pushed on to Kerry, it is beginning to look like a Clinton reelection campaign. Clearly Kerry cannot be happy is he has any intelligence.

Plus, Kerry is painfully aware as to just who still runs the Democratic Party now and in the future. It is not good for his monumental ego. smile.gif

If you will note, during the entire time(weeks) that I have pushed this on the forum, not one Kerry supporter has even dared to touch this subject with a ten foot pole. I wonder why? Could it be that they are just a wee bit concerned themselves?

If anyone here can show a better reason for this madness that the Dems are engaged in, I am open to suggestions. Clearly, Democratic strategists, who have some sembelence of reason, are rolling their eyes and wringing their hands at this lunacy.

It could be like you say they are attempting suicide. The DNC may be becoming aware what a liabilty Kerry really is and are affraid, as they should be, of thier candidate actually getting in office.

The only thing Kerry is fit to command is his windsurfer!

In 1978, Bush, while running for Congress in West Texas, produced campaign literature that claimed he had served in the US Air Force. According to a 1999 Associated Press report, Bush's congressional campaign ran a pullout ad in the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal that declared he had served "in the US Air Force and the Texas Air National Guard where he piloted the F-102 aircraft."

Bush lost that congressional race, but twenty-one years later, the AP questioned him about the ad. The news outlet had a good reason to do so. Bush had never served in the Air Force. He had only been in the Air National Guard. But when AP asked Bush [in 1999] if he had been justified in claiming service in the Air Force, Bush, then the governor of Texas and a presidential candidate, said, "I think so, yes. I was in the Air Force for over 600 days." Karen Hughes, his spokeswoman, maintained that when Bush attended flight school for the Air National Guard from 1968 to 1969 he was considered to be on active duty for the Air Force and that several times afterward he had been placed on alert, which also qualified as active duty for the Air Force. All told, she said, Bush had logged 607 days of training and alerts. "As an officer [in the Air National Guard]," she told the AP, "he was serving on active duty in the Air Force."

But this explanation was wrong. Says who? The Air Force. As the Associated Press reported,

The Air Force says that Air National Guard members are considered 'guardsmen on active duty' while receiving pilot training. They are not, however, counted as members of the overall active-duty Air Force.

Anyone in the Air National Guard is always considered a guardsmen and not a member of the active-duty Air Force, according to an Air Force spokeswoman in the Pentagon. A National Guard member may be called to active duty for pilot training or another temporary assignment and receive active-duty pay at the time, but they remain Guard members.

The AP report said, "It may be a question of semantics." But today I checked with two spokespersons for the US Air Force, and each confirmed that an active-duty member of the Air National Guard is not considered a member of the US Air Force. "If a member of the Air National Guard is in pilot training," says Captain Cristin Lesperance of the US Air Force media relations office, "they would remain on the Guard books. They would be counted as Guard, not as an active-duty Air Force member."

As usual, your robotic response belies the need for some reading classes. If you had again bothered to read your own thread, or the posts above, you would be able to see the I rebutted your post. But since you never, ever bother to read posts, unless they "looK"good, you probably missed it.

I think that I will need to treat you as a subadult, as you are exhibiting all the characteristics: poor attention span, limited cognative skills, poor writing capabilities, and a host of others. You are beginning to remind me of the 'Baby Huey' comic character of the 50s.

Poor fellow. Some simply mature faster than others. wink.gif
