Here is a letter that was E-mailed to me so i thought i would share it with everyone so if you want to vote by absentee ballot you can.

Dear Ali,

The election is less than seven weeks away and our momentum is building. As I travel the country, the crowds are big and the mood is upbeat. There is real excitement for our agenda, and I know that this enthusiasm will mean a tremendous turnout.

On Election Day, you may be one of many who will be working the polls, driving voters to their polling locations, or making Get Out the Vote calls. Our message must be: No matter what you're doing, be sure to vote. The stakes are high.

Starting today, you can request your ballot by mail, and soon you can cast an early ballot at early vote locations in your area. If you're going to be busy on November 2nd, I encourage you to take this opportunity and vote early. There's even a special page on our campaign website to make the process easier.

www.GeorgeWBush.com/VoteEarly

Using this link, you can get your Absentee/By Mail ballot request or find a list of early voting locations near you. By casting your vote early, you can avoid lines at the polls on Election Day and still be sure your voice is heard in this important election.

This election is critical for our nation.

The choice is between winning the war on terror by defending the homeland, taking the battle to the terrorists and fighting them where they live and train - or retreating to a pre-9/11 worldview that treats acts of terrorism as a law enforcement issue.

The choice is between a practical approach that puts doctors and patients in control of health care decisions or a government-run system that would cost more than $1.5 trillion and put bureaucrats in charge.

The choice is between an economic agenda that recognizes America's economy is growing, but can do more, or an agenda that raises taxes, increases regulations and stifles our economic recovery.

Your vote is important to winning and to building a safer world and a more hopeful America. I hope you will take the opportunity to vote early - either by mail or in person.

www.GeorgeWBush.com/VoteEarly

Thanks for all you have done for my campaign, and all you will do over the next 46 days.

Sincerely,

P.S. Beginning today, you can request your ballot by mail, or you can soon cast your vote at early vote locations in your area. I encourage you to take this opportunity and vote early. We've even set up a special page on our website to make the process a little easier - www.GeorgeWBush.com/VoteEarly. Be sure to direct your friends living overseas to our website so they can vote absentee as well.

I wish Laura Bush would make a statement directed toward women voters. So many women vote to lose their rights by voting Democrat and don't know it. If they only would look back to the era of the Women's Right to Vote movement they would see that the Dems then did not think women had the brains for practical responsible voting. They did everything in their power to stop the ammemdment that gave women the right to vote. At the time when they finally got their right to vote, the leaders of the Women's movement tried very hard to impress on the woman voters to take voting seriously and know the issues so no man could ever again say they didn't have the brains or responsibility to understand the issues enough to cast a vote. If women today would pay attention and look toward the future for their children-whether male or female- to not have rights of freedom taken from them as the women back then did for thier daughters, we'd see a lot more women voting Republican. The ones who vote Dem because they assume it's the family party are a disgrace to those who fought for our right to vote.

So true jaybee, just as the Democrats voted to deny the Blacks the right to vote and the Dems voted against the Civil Rights Bill in 64, yet the Blacks are Rabid Democrats for the most part. And just as the Democratic Party fervently fought against the U.S. getting into the 2nd World War against Germany because Joe Kennedy was a personal friend of Hitlers yet the American Jewish population overwhelmingly supports the Democrats. Go figure it, i don't understand it at all. Especially since Lurch is kissing up to all of the Islamic Communities in America and making promises to them to earn their votes.

How many more than the 6 million Jews that were killed by Hitler would have died had Roosevelt listened to Joe Kennedy and his ilk. And how will the modern Jewish Community suffer if kerry wins the Whitehouse and abandons support for Israel. Only God knows the answers to these questions for sure but i can't wait to find out for myself what the outcome will be.

This would be like me hating Bush because he declared War on Islamic Terrorists just because i am an Arab. My question is, what do i love more, my Country ? or being an Arab. To me, supporting my Arab bloodline would be commiting treason against the country that gave me the freedom to enjoy a life that would have been lived in bondage to Islam had i been unlucky enough to have been born in Syria or Lebenon which is my heritage.

Right on target, politiphile!

And speaking of Blacks....not that I agree with slavery because I don't, but where would any of the blacks be now if they had not been brought over here as slaves....in Ethiopia or Sudan or some other horrible place....but the real issue that is ignored when Jackson and Sharpton et als complain about slavery is their brothers in AFrica are the ones who already had these people held as slaves and sold them for Rum. They were already slaves....we didn't take otherwise free people and make them slaves....still slavery is wrong...but I guess my point is...why did Jesse Jackson invent the African American tag for blacks? What did Africa ever do good for them? Nothing! So why can't these people just be Americans? Could it be that rabble rousers like Jackson want to keep crap stirred up so constantly reminding blacks of Africa also reminds them to hate the white man? Same goes for Arab Americans and the whole lot ....this tagging reminds them of what they chose to leave behind and stigmatizes them because of their past. There shouldn't be all these identifying tags.

I'm sure those from other countries want to remember their culture. That's fine and dandy...but too often it's not the culture that gets the attention...it's the bad things the country they left is doing and these new Americans end up getting treated unfairly by predjudiced people. So I'm with you....if you're Arab or whatever you are, once you become an American citizen you are an American and should stand up for America against your old country in times of conflict ...or go home.

As for the libs....if they don't like the things that made America great, they need to export themselves to some other country they do approve of. And socialism did not make America great. But it will be it's downfall if libs don't stop playing mind games.
Huey_P
Jaybee, not only is your post offensive and racist, but historically inaccurate as well.. it is a clear indication that u have little or no knowledge as to the history of Africa, the slave trade, and the diaspora of African peoples..

allow me to explain..

QUOTE
not that I agree with slavery because I don't, but where would any of the blacks be now if they had not been brought over here as slaves....in Ethiopia or Sudan or some other horrible place

first of all, African slaves came from WESTERN African, from the kingdom known as Ghana (which was much larger than the modern day nation of the same name), and later Mali..

no slaves came from "Ethiopia or Sudan or some other horrible place", as those nations are in EASTERN Africa.. Western Europeans did not venture that deep into the continent of Africa in search of slaves, nor did they travel AROUND Africa or thru the mediterranean in order to capture slaves from those Red Sea nations, as it would be a completely inefficient process in order to send slaves back across the Atlantic.

second of all, the kingdoms of Africa were far from "horrible places" prior to the European slave trade.

Africans had a highly developed civilization, complete with intricate import and export systems and tax codes, rich with gold and diamonds and most importantly highly intellectual systems of education and knowledge.

Greek philosophers, including Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, Democritus etc learned of higher arts, sciences and mathematics from the Egyptians.

many learned in the world's first university in Timbuktu, in the nation of Mali.

not only is your lack of knowledge evident by referring to Ethiopia and Sudan, but it is an outright RACIST assumption that Africa was somehow "horrible" and uncivilized prior to European conquest.

QUOTE
their brothers in AFrica are the ones who already had these people held as slaves and sold them for Rum. They were already slaves

this is grossly inaccurate.

while it is true that SOME Africans assisted Europeans in rounding up slaves, the slave trade simply would not have existed if the slave market had not been established by Europeans in the first place.

frequently it was a matter of tribal or inter-family warfare for members of one tribe or family to kidnap others and sell them into slavery, often with guns and other weapons sold or traded to them by Europeans.

this served a dual purpose: trade for goods (NOT simply rum), and elimination of competition.

nowhere was it evident what was going to occur to those people once they were sold into slavery. Africans had no idea the greater picture.

and while it MAY be true that SOME Africans held slaves from rival tribes, your assertion that this makes the European slave trade "ok" is simply not grounded in reality, because it is based on the FALSE assumption that all slavery is equal, which is simply untrue.

pre-European African slavery was COMPLETELY different from the slavery, bondage and oppression that occurred in the Americas.

pre-European African slavery was more like Native American or even Roman systems of slavery in that it frequently was a result of inter-tribal conflict, where captives or conquered peoples were absorbed into the general population.

slaves in Africa were not treated as animals, were not brutalized and put into bondage, were not lynched and hung, were not forced en masse onto plantations, but were rather treated as members of the family (although subordinate), with the potential to eventually gain independence.. much like Roman slaves.

all slavery is simply not the same.

MOST historians will agree that the Trans-Atlantic slave trade was far more brutal, deadly and oppressive than those forms of inter-tribal slavery.

QUOTE
why did Jesse Jackson invent the African American tag for blacks? What did Africa ever do good for them? Nothing! So why can't these people just be Americans?

why cant these people just be Americans?

because AMERICA doesnt want them to just be Americans. do u think it was Blacks, or Indians, or Latinos, or Asians that WANTED to be seperated and treated differently than other Americans?

do u think we as minorities CHOSE for it to be that way? thats grossly disingenous.

the term African-American was coined as a more RESPECTFUL replacement for terms like "colored", or "Negro", which is a spanish adjective for a black OBJECT.

would u rather everybody just stuck with "nigger" or "jiggaboo" ?

or is it ok with u that Black folks define themselves with self-respect, "massa" ??

QUOTE
reminding blacks of Africa also reminds them to hate the white man

why would pride in one's heritage be synonymous with hatred of the white man?

does the fact that Black Americans or Arab Americans or Hispanic Americans have pride in their heritage somehow threaten u?

thats sounds like your OWN insecurity, not something wrong with Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton or the Black community.
Huey_P
i thought i'd address this comment seperately..

QUOTE
As for the libs....if they don't like the things that made America great, they need to export themselves to some other country they do approve of.

ummm.. no.

one of the things that makes America great is the freedom of speech, and the freedom to live up to our full potential.

rather than telling us to leave because we think there are aspects of American society that could be better, WHY DONT WE TRY TO MAKE THEM BETTER?

it seems YOU dont love America enough to help us achieve our full potential.

it seems YOU dont love America enough to want us to fix our problems and strive to be BETTER than we are.

it seems YOU would rather America sink into the "junk heap of history" rather than continue to improve.

your comment is the most UN-democratic, UN-American comment imaginable.

u should be ashamed.
jaybee
What can I say, Huey...it seems I've hit a sore spot with you. I'm sorry you misinterpreted everything I said, but I won't write you a diatribe about it so you can misinterpret that as well.

I will say though....I know the slaves in question came from the west coast and I know the countries I mentioned are not west coast. It was not supposed to be a literal point of departure, but rather an example of horrible conditions of which we can relate in our time.

Bye now and don't be a racist by calling me one. wink.gif
politiphile
Huey, your disertation on the history of Slavery is correct. I agree with all of what you said about the slave trade, its history, origins and the brutal application of its practice in the U.S; I have to challenge you on Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton though. And i think this is what Jaybee was trying to address. These two men have created personal fortunes by encouraging the Welfare State and holding their own people whom they claim to want to lift up from Poverty and hopelesness.

They are very good at blackmailing McDonalds and Burger King with threats of Discrimination Lawsuits unless these Corporations pay them millions of dollars in personal payoffs and promise to hire Blacks for minimum wage jobs. They lie to Blacks to make sure the masses hate the Republican Party who strives to give minorities an equal seat at the table of American Prosperity.

Sharpton is a Rascist of the highest caliber. He hates the white man and a man like that, what ever his Race can never be a unifier. He, like Jackson has used the monicker of Religeon and the pulpit to catapult his way onto the National stage and fill his own pockets with blood money at the expense of the poor people he claims to care about.

The whole tawana Brawley scandal was a manufactured crime intended to line his pockets and further his public image as a champion of the people. The fact that it was based on false allegations was irrelavent to him. Now please understand that my dislike for them is no different than my disgust for the likes of Bill Clinton and John Kerry.

Any Power Mongers, no matter what Race they are are bad for the people they claim to care about and the Country in general. I can tell you are well informed in some areas and although i insult you, it's because we are diametrically opposed philosophicaly. I can't understand for the life of me how black people can support the party that fought the civil war to keep them in Slavery. And the Party that as recently as 1964 voted overwhelmingly to prevent the Civil Rights Bill from passing. Senator Albert Gore senior of Tennessee voted against the Civil Rights Act and i'll bet you a dollar to a dime you voted for his son in 2000.

The Democrats controlled both houses of Congress for a solid 40 years and every 4 years they made the same tired, rehashed promises to the African American Community. The quality of life within the Black community never improved generation after generation yet your people continued to imply and actually believe that the Republican Party doesn't care and will work to keep you down.

Are you even aware that Home ownership among Blacks under Bush has more than trippled when compared to the numbers under the first Black President, Bill Clinton. All he gave you was lip service like every other Democratic President. Please read my post above about Blacks and Jews and then respond. I realise that if i can't win you over to my side with this issue then we are destined to be at political odds forever because i will never trust or support the people of this ilk who lead the Democratic Party exactly for the reasons i have stated in these posts.

Jaybee, I am an American Born Arab with an Irish Grandmother which is where i got blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair from. I was born in Boston Mass and raised in New Hampshire. My great dissapointment is that i don't even speak Arabic or i would have worked for the FBI after 9/11 as a translater or in some capacity utilizing my skills as an Arab, but unfortunately i am so Americanized i'm useless in that capacity as is my whole family. I just thought i would clarify that for you.
