This petition was started yesterday because the 14th ammendment of our Constitution actually doesn't allow him to run for Political office. Like everything else people get away with things only if they don't get caught. It's about time someone started this ball rolling.

Thus, in accordance with the Constitution's Fourteenth Amendment, Section 3, which states, "No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President ... having previously taken an oath ... to support the Constitution of the United States, [who has] engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof."

Absolutely scathing, and dealing with this very issue.

I'm not the greatest fan of Bush, but anyone who can vote for Kerry is a blind fool.

I'm not up Bush's a*s either. I just think he's the best man for the job right now, unlike some on here who see their candidate as the equivalent to their favorite rock star! Just because Kerry used to be in a band doesn't make him qualified to be president!

And gideon, I fully intend to vote, but this petition only helps to bring the subject to the attention of us all. How many of us knew this was in the Constitution before now? I didn't, although I wondered when Clinton was running why he should be allowed to run after he burned our flag and protested his country.
