ExPatYank has a good piece on Bush's upcoming visit to Europe.
BELOVED LEADER TO VISIT Evil cometh in 48th hours. Presumably, the "progressive" crowd will shortly be bringing out the as of yet untorched U.S. flags (errr, they hate only Bush, not the U.S. remember, or so we are told) and those "untoppled" Bush effigies held in reserve since late 2003. (You can knock over only so many in any given protest, after all, and there always have to be a few extras around, just in case they're needed -- especially for the unpredicted, "short lead time" Bush visit.) Bush has conceded that friction over the Iraq war caused some in Europe and the United States to "talk past each other."
"My first goal is to remind both Americans and Europeans that the trans-Atlantic relationship is very important for our mutual security and for peace," the president said at a news conference Thursday.
"We have differences sometimes, but we don't differ on values.
