John Hawkins offers up The 40 Most Obnoxious Quotes Of 2004

I won't keep you in suspense on which is #1 but read the rest! biggrin.gif

1) "The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not 'insurgents' or 'terrorists' or 'The Enemy.' They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow -- and they will win." -- Michael Moore
mister wizard
This one is right up there!:

QUOTE
5) "The word 'hero' has been bandied about a lot to refer to anyone killed in Afghanistan or Iraq. But anyone who voluntarily goes to Afghanistan or Iraq [as a soldier] is fighting for an evil cause under an evil commander in chief." -- Ted Rall

Ted Rall POS!

This one is also good:
QUOTE
17) "I think if Kerry were to win this in a tight race, I think there would be an effort to mount a coup, quite frankly." -- Bill Moyers

Bill Moyers POS!

Some more obnoxious quotes:

"You bet we might have." -Sen. Kerry, asked if he would have gone to war against Saddam Hussein if he refused to disarm

"I actually did vote for the $87 billion, before I voted against it." -Sen. Kerry, on voting against a military funding bill for U.S. troops in Iraq

"Go ###### yourself." -Vice President Dick Cheney to Sen. Patrick Leahy, during an angry exchange on the Senate floor about profiteering by Halliburton

And the leader said:

"There is no such thing necessarily in a dictatorial regime of iron-clad absolutely solid evidence. The evidence I had was the best possible evidence that he had a weapon."
- NBC's "Meet the Press", Febraury 8, 2004

"Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be somewhere!" -President Bush, joking about his administration's failure to find WMDs in Iraq as he narrated a comic slideshow during the Radio & TV Correspondents' Association dinner

"I'm a war president. I make decisions here in the Oval Office in foreign policy matters with war on my mind."
- NBC's "Meet the Press", February 8, 2004

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." -President Bush

QUOTE
39) "Clothing is wonderful, but let them go naked for a while, at least the kids. Water is necessary, and then generators, and then food, and then clothes." -- Teresa Heinz Kerry instructs volunteers packing donations for "hurricane relief efforts in the Caribbean".

See - this is the difference between the Conservative Christians and everyone else.

Everyone else would rather feed people, and the CC would rather some of them tarve while waiting for clothes.

I honestly don't see the obnoxiousness of this quote, other than the speaker, of course. Anything she says qualifies by default, I reckon.

QUOTE
37) "The Dixiecrats meet again in New York. Now they're called Republicans." -- Andrew Sullivan
Here's another one ... This is true is it not? When did the truth become obnoxious? The Dixiecrats are, indeed, now Republicans.

QUOTE
35) "(Bush is) just a sick f***. I think we'd be hard-pressed to get someone worse than Bush. I think if you had to sum it up he's an incredibly selfish man and his administration in my opinion puts Americans ahead of people in other countries." -- MCA from the Beastie Boys
This one is funny, though

QUOTE
22) "I think we're at risk with our democracy. I think we're dealing with the most closed, imperialistic, nastiest administration in living memory. They even put Richard Nixon to shame." -- Wesley Clark

This one I agree with.

Please tell me you meant that as sarcasm? I hope you wouldn't actually believe that Christians would starve people while waiting for clothes. The stupidity of her quote is that it doesn't have to be one or the other. We can give them food and clothing. The US alone could feed and cloth them easily. To imply that Christians did not want to feed the starving just because we also happen to think that we can perserve their dignity with clothing is absurd.

She didn't say "feed them but don't clothe them" She said

Get them water first,
then set up the power (hospitals need power),
then food
then clothes.

Makes sense to me. She is obviously at the scene and talking about which crates to open up first.

Whats wrong with that?

And there are a lot of conseravtie Christians wh, would, indeed, make that choice. I've known a few. Christians are just liek everyone else. A lot of 'em are good, but some of 'em are nuts. Notice I didn't say "all Christians" - I meant the group that are waiting for the Rapture.

"Anybody But Bush!" It became the mantra of the mindless, Bush-bashing reactionaries on the left.
