I've been working in the humanitarian area with some of the victims of the Burmese military and the continual lies just to lure the ethnic minorities into false hope is pretty shocking. There would have to be some pretty concrete steps taken before I (or anyone, really) am convinced...

But there's always a hope and a prayer for those who've suffered immensely in this conflict.

That's right, let's see some real results, and then the rest of the world will perhaps believe that the military Junta is somewhat seriour about practicing what they sing about.

Having followed this for years, It will take more than words to sway me.

Just wondering, what are the chances of US intervention here? I know certain elements of the US and British governments have stuck their fingers in that pie some time back, but apart from some external force (God, perhaps?) the people who have the power will keep using that power to hang on to it!

Can't see the US, or anyone volunteerig for another Vietnam... I trekked the Burmese mountains with "freedom fighters", and man... it's not easy...
