I was in Manchester, England last week. Oh my god I couldn’t believe the hatred for bush, as you all know I’m no fan! But wow!I’ll nearly got lynched.  I really tried to explain our position.  As one brit put it “its not America I hate is the red neck in the White House I’ve got a problem with.
huh.gif

And remember that Great Britain is our strongest ally in Europe, a 'special' relationship.

What difference does it make if some Brit said he hates Bush. So what. What kind of arguement is it to say I was so and so and such and such was really pissed off at Bush. Soooo Whaaat.

But the guy is a village idiot who think he is god. Usually bad things happen when you put incompetence at the top

I am not sure Kerry would have been a better choice. I wanted Bush to win because he is putting pressure on Europe to put its act together for a common defense policy.

The point is you can put the village idiot at the top spot, as long as his handlers (advisors) are brillant, which they are. It can be said that. I think advisor to advisor from the Bush vs the Clinton administration, the Bush administration has the stronger team.

I am glad to see the revelation that Butterfly wanted Bush to win, and he actually had reasoning behind it.

You would be right in most cases but the difference here is that Bush team is made of dangerous lunatics while Clinton team was made of brillant state officials.

The village idiot is being manipulated by very dangerous individuals. You guys fail to see that and that's the problem.

Bush as an individual is not "evil". He is "evil" because of his position. He is dumb as a rock and can be manipulated by people for doing "evil" things. Iraq is the best example. The US has reached its limit as a superpower. Time to replace it.

I just love it when all you rocket scientists, posting anonymously on an insignificant forum, call the most powerful man in the world "stupid".

Here is a man that is one of only 43 US Presidents in history and is only one of 16 to ever be re-elected for a second term and you are calling him "stupid"?

Methinks you people should get your priorities right. You obviously disagree with his policies since he did not include Old Europe in the decision making process, but you can hardly call him "stupid".

Lamphun and Chuckd, I am sorry if I was not clear. I do not think Bush is stupid. I said "the village idiot" in a neutral sense, not specific to GWB. I think in principle you could place a village idiot in an important position, and with the right advisors, pull it off. In the beginning of the Clinton Presidency, Clinton made some bad mistakes like the haircut on runway which kept all the rest of the planes on the ground behind him. He kept making stupid mistakes until he got "handlers", I mean advisors.

Lamphun:

May we examine all of these alleged mistakes individually?

1. I assume you are referring to 9-11 as the peace time atrocity that GWB personally permitted. I have failed to find in any of the 9-11 Commissions report that he is held personally accountable for any mistake made in this matter. If you don't have a legimitate reference, it would appear you are merely barking up the Moveon.org tree.

2. Congress and 9-11 also had a big hand in turning the budget surplus into a deficiency. But GWB is "dumb" because it happened?

3. The UN's Oil for Food program and Saddam's issuing of millions of barrels of oil vouchers had quite a bit to do with turning France, Germany, Russia and China against the Coalition. Oh, that's right...it must have been GWB's own "stupidity" in not recognizing the various leaders in those governments were being paid off by Saddam.

4. Yes, he did choke on a pretzel but I don't believe he poked himself in the eye with one. You have any references for the eye poking thing? Did you ever choke on a bite of food, Lamphun? No.... you must be too smart for that to have ever happened to you. How about just a little cough? You ever had one?

5. While he may have been living for years off of the coattails of his father, this would throw him right in with most of Hollywood's young stars, some politicians and most anybody with a famous or rich parent. Where does "stupid" enter into this?

Ft. Niagra has stated in another post he does not think GWB is stupid. He, I am sure, disagrees with most of the policies of GWB, but has come to the realization that the man is not stupid. That's the point I was trying to make.

Your continued calling GWB "dumb" or "stupid" merely underscores your lack of intelligence and knowledge about how the real world works. Call him "misguided", "arrogant" or even "evil" if you wish, but the man, and anybody else that attains the position of President of the US, is not "dumb".

I totally understand why GWB went into Iraq. I do not think it was oil, or revenge. I think he went in there for the reasons he said he did. I wished then that he wouldn't do it, but now that he has done it, by accident or design, it might be in retrospect the best way to have fought the IslamoFascists in this world. Islam and government are closely tied together, look at Iran. OBL is the champion of Islam, and Islamic law and government. By successfully inserting democracy into Islamic countries, and for the world to see people dancing in the streets, negates ALOT of car bombings. Eventually GWB may go down in history as not only smart, but brilliant.

Lamphun, I just noticed that you are member number 2, which means that you have been on the Bearpit from the start. You probably know member 1 personally, and some of the other famous names personally as well.

I would say that 911 was an attack, but also a declaration of war not between countries, but between cultures: Western Democracatic vs Islamic Theocratic government and culture. No, there is no mission accomplished, but it is obvious that successful elections is a blow to al Queida. One principle of democratic government is the separation of church and state, the opposite of Islamic government. One of the reasons for OBL's anger is the Western influence over Islamic countiries. OBL gave his ultimatum for stopping his attack on the west: Become Islamic. GWB answered not by cowering, but by going into and attempting to make their Islamic countries Democratic. It is a novel way of fighting a war of cultures.

In any event, successful or not, GWB is a fighter and possibly a visionary. I will wait awhile. Maybe Democracy will have the domino effect that everyone once thought Communism had. Imagine, democracy might be more powerful that all the RPGs and car bombs they have. They are now reduced to capturing GI Joe dolls and threatening to cut their heads off.

It is kind of funny. During the Colonial Period, those founding fathers of the soon to become United States would have certainly been labeled liberal. They embrassed a concept called Democracy, and at the potential loss of their lives, they championed it. Fast forward 200+ years, and the liberals among us talk about putting the cart before the horse. I guess they don't make liberals like the used to.

Therein lies the whole problem. OBL never represented the muslim world, but GWB has declared war on their culture and previously friendly countries and peoples have been forced to take sides. Guess what side they took ?

In his stupid attempt to "shoot it out" with an amorphous enemy GWB has played into the hands of that which he claims to be against. So we're going to end up with a theocracy in Iraq and more "religious" governments in a lot of other countries which used to be relatively free. Classic example is Iran which seems to be turning back to the middle ages with an H bomb. If GWB is intelligent as claimed by some posters here then I assume he must be in the pay of OBL, after all he is doing his work for him.

I think the real ennemy of the state and the true OBL supporters are the ones who are supporting blindly the Chimp. If this is what they want, so be it.

Ennemy = Enemy

Your posts would make a modicum of sense of they were spelled correctly.

Have you ever heard of "Spell Check"?

Your bulb dims daily.

what's wrong ? bored with your retirement or too many drinks in Pattaya ?

Neither. Just bored with you. tongue.gif

I will leave you at your bar stool rolleyes.gif

Butterbutt:

Is there any way you can make sense out of that last post?

Exactly what are you going to leave at my alleged bar stool? What if I don't really have a bar stool? Where will you leave this imaginary object? When will you leave this imaginary object, assuming you can answer the three questions posed above?

What are your ranting about little man ? tongue.gif

You shouldn't have said "your bar stool". He doesn't own one. These retired military types are prone to loose their temper when they wake up with a hangover, one needs to make allowance for this...  ohmy.gif    laugh.gif

Vizitor, you must be a rocket scientist also. If you will read carefully the posts above, you will see that blubberbutt inserted the word "YOU" in an edit after I questioned him.

Look at the quoted links from me. I do that so when he does change an incoherent post there is always proof of what he originally said. He frequently changes the words and sometimes inane thoughts when called upon them.

It appears you are no more intelligent than our esteemed papillon so I will probably quote you from now on. If you are so stupid as to make any more posts, that is.

You get it now, or do you need any further explanation?

Saving posts from forums and comparing periodically whether they've been edited seems just a bit over the top to me. laugh.gif
But then, this is the same sort of guys who believe anyone wearing a headscarf is out to destroy Western civilisation, and Pattaya is awash with secret service operatives.. rolleyes.gif

Who cares what the rest of the world watches?
We Americans must come together to unite. The rest of the world misunderestimates our determination to eradicate terrorism and its sympathisers, sacrifices must be made for the future of mankind. This is our century, the century of liberty, democracy and Christian values!

The Lucky Star? Hmmm. Is that the place the soccer hooligans from olde Europe hang out with their boy-toys?

Interesting that you would know about the place.

Have you managed to save up enough tip money from your hamburger job to make another trip yet?

Vizitor:

Since you have been a member for a whopping ten days, I will explain why it is best to quote posts when you respond to them.

Liberals have the tendency to edit a post after they have been called to account for the errors in them. It seems to be easier for them to do that than merely admitting they made a mistake. Since you seem to be trending toward the anti-US, hate Bush crowd, I think I will quote your posts when I feel they deserve a response. In short, I don't think you can be trusted either.

Oh, by the way. I thought it was the French government that had banned headscarves.
