Jane Fonda
Regrets 1972 Visit to Vietnam Gun Site.

"The actress defended her trip to Vietnam in 1972, which won her the nickname "Hanoi Jane." But she said her visit to a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun site used to shoot down U.S. pilots was a "betrayal" of the U.S. military.
"The image of Jane Fonda, Barbarella, Henry Fonda's daughter ... sitting on an enemy aircraft gun was a betrayal," she said, calling the act, "The largest lapse of judgment that I can even imagine."

"But she said she did not regret visiting Hanoi, or being photographed with American prisoners of war there."

Nice touch. But she doesn't regret visiting Hanoi or undermining GI's morale... mad.gif

I will be brief on this subject.

I made a dying friend from Vietnam a promise that I would or would have someone, if I could not. P i s s on the guy that sent us there, Mcnamar's and Hanio Jane's Graves.

I await the demise of two of the three in my quest of this Holly Grail.

In my will, I have, as well made proviso, for this quest to be fullfilled with an handsome insentive to the purveyor of this honorbale quest.

I hope my english was clear and precise enough so that my words were understood on this one.

That is all!

Very clear, trader. If I have the opportunity to do the same, it would be a rewarding experience. blink.gif

The leftists never learn it seems. Imagine if all of your icons eventually changed their minds and admitted they were wrong? Even the creator of the Marxist movement in Berkely during the 60's is changed. David Hororwitz rallied several thousand zealots around a red fisted totem and look at him now. This is the fundamental difference between "liberal" and "conservative" Conservatives think before they act.

This is funny:

Barbarella just won't give up as evidenced by this latest barrage of PR she's peddling... dry.gif

Jane Fonda's "Apology":

New Whine in Old Bottles .

"With the publication of Jane Fonda’s autobiography, the public in general and veterans in particular have once again been insulted by her contentless “apology” for a single episode in her multi-faceted junket to Hanoi in July 1972. Fonda’s charade on “60 Minutes” the other night was simply a robotic reprise of what she has been repeating as a mantra for years in words carefully crafted by her spin doctors."

Read it all - if you have the stomach... dry.gif

Veteran Has No Regrets For Spitting On Jane Fonda.

Man Says He Did It For Veterans

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A man who had waited in line at a book-signing in Kansas City for Academy Award-winning actress Jane Fonda spit tobacco juice in her face Tuesday night.

The suspect, Vietnam veteran Michael A. Smith, 54, Smith said that his actions were planned and he has no regrets. He said he's a Vietnam veteran still angry at Fonda for her trip to Hanoi in 1972.
"She's a traitor, and she cost the lives of a lot of good men," Smith, who was 19 when he was sent to fight in Vietnam, told KMBC-TV in Kansas City. "She didn't do anything to the government -- she slapped us in the face.

If she comes to my town, she's going to get more of the same... ph34r.gif

Expressing his opinion verbally is exercising his 1st Amendment rights. Spitting on her is "battery", and should be followed up with an arrest and prosecution. I have sympathy with his cause, but none for his actions.

I half agree, half disagree with his actions. I think that if he knew the consequences of his action, and was willing to pay them, then I have no problem. Of course he should be charged with battery and punished, but Jane has never received any punishment for her traitorous act. If you see a great injustice being done, and are willing to pay the consequences to help right that wrong, I have no problem.

Were I in his shoes, I can't say I wouldn't do something similar. I know it's wrong, and I'd like to tell myself I wouldn't try and get revenge, but I honestly can't with confidence. For these reasons, I must say that, at the least, I have no ill will toward this man, and at best, I respect him for doing what he believed was right even when society said the opposite.

Perhaps he made a dying friend a promise similar to ustrader's...
