AARP urged to debate private accounts

By James G. Lakely
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

The chairman of a conservative group supporting private retirement accounts within Social Security has challenged the AARP to a debate on the issue, but the Goliath AARP won't bite at the jabs put out by the political David of USA Next.

I haven't heard any real ideas from the Democrats about a permanent fix to social security. I have heard rumors that they are thinking some up, but talk is cheap. I'm waiting to see if their proposal includes anything besides "raise taxes on the rich, and give them fewer benefits." Good ol socialism.

Of interest is the Thrift Savings Plan, which is privatized and for government employees. I have heard many great things from people who are on the plan. Democrats say "it's good enough for me, but not you people."

Social Security:
The Greatest (and only legal) ponzi scheme in all of the US!

No need to debate, the GOP have lost all credibility with their lies about iraq, the economy and the fake "war on terror"

That is why they won the recent election with such an overwhelming majority! wink.gif

dkward2, the dems have no alternatives to the SSI problem or any other problem for that matter. They always b****, moan, cry, and criticize without ever presenting any alternatives. How sad. sad.gif

Group of wealthy Americans call for 'tax revolt'
I haven't seen this reported elsewhere. I don't know how it impinges on your social security debate, but it's nice to see rich people worrying about the less well off.

They won't be able to hide there socialist tendencies much longer. Soon they will start to blurt out uncontrolbly, "RAISE THE TAXES, RAAAAAAAISE THEM!"

Le Tonk:

Thank you for the article you posted. I got a little mad reading it. I like the part about

QUOTE
But the campaign urges the wealthy, instead of simply handing back the tax cuts to the US Treasury, to pledge the money to organizations campaigning for fairer taxes.

Let me paraphrase: Instead of giving their money to the government, they will give them to left-leaning organizations

A second and final paraphrase:
"We are doing what we want with our money to make sure others can't!"

Bush gave rich people the ability to do what they want with their hard-earned money. If these 65 people claiming to represent the wealthy want the government to have their money, they should give it to them. Let the other rich people (minus 65) do what they want as well.

Yay for ignorance and close-mindedness in these rich democrats. I love how people like Scary John Kerry want to tax the rich, but he uses every loop hole he can find to lower the amount of taxes he pays. Want hypocrisy? Look no further. I call on rich democrats to give 50% of their money to the government, which is what they want us to do.

Lead by example.
