Out of curiosity, John L., Did all of your forbearers arrive on the Mayflower?
Of course not! Why would you ask a question such as that? And if I did, is that a bad thing?
As a matter of fact, I am a HUGE hetrogeneous mixture of Irish, German, English, American Indian, and lastly Moroccam Sephardic Jews.
I think that what you are driving at is that I am a true follower of the Founders and the origional intent of the Constitution. Am I not correct?
This is just what the modern left thinks about those quaint, but primitive people. Forget the very fact that they were the greatest accumulation of geniuses the world has ever encountered. And they were, for the most part, deeply religious and believed passionately in Liberty! What is wrong with that?
And they believed that the Constitution was a profound document, that had Real parameters. This fallacy that the Left fosters, that the Constitution is a "Living, Breathing" document, is pure baloney and tailored only for their intent to manipulate it. I will give you a good example. If you like poker, bridge, chess, or even football, would you like to play any of them with "living" rules, or rules that were fixed? Enough said here.
It would be more than wise for the citizens of this country to spend more time studying our Founders. Then perhaps we may not be in the squabble we are currently in.
I highly recommend that you go and read
The ReJeffersonization of America, By James Pinkerton. It is a great article looking from the future, and shows just how the IT revolution is changing the nation back to the very concept that Jefferson envisioned. It is a must read if you are interested in "trend lines".
