Excellent!

Student Bush backers outnumber critics

By Jennifer Harper
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

It's close, very close. But more college students approve of President Bush than disapprove of him, according to a poll released yesterday by Harvard University's Institute of Politics.

Yes, GOP. A major sea change is in the works. A simple stop over to Front Page Magazine, on a daily basis, will show anyone just why. The Right, led by David Horowitz, is on the offense. The real Conservatives now are the Left, as they dig in their heels, trying to resist this change.

Now, let's go after the largest bastion of Marxist thought in this country: the professors themselves. They are next, and somehow, I suspect that most of them are aware of it. Thank G-d! blink.gif wink.gif

John:

This is off-topic, but I am curious as to your typing G-d. I wonder, are you Jewish? I am aware of the hesitance of many, not just Jews, to type the true name of G-d, but I have always seen G-d as a title, which is given to many in the bible. Psalms 82 speaks of human judges being gods. Is it simply the capitalized G in G-d that signals the extra-ordinary care given to its writing?

I also found it interesting that until recently, Jews were unsure whether they could type the name/title G-d or YH*W or J*hovah etc and then backspace over it. (They decided they could).

Is the care in typing because someone may print the page out someday, and that that page may not be treated with respect? I am very interested in this subject, if you care to enlighten me further than my web searches have.

Finally, does all of this care truly come from the commandment not to take the L*rd's name in vain?

Technically, you are correct. According to Jewish tradition, I am a natural Jew, because Jewish heritage is passed down through the mother's side of the family. My mother's mother was a Sephardic Jew, and her family, from Morocco, "practiced" their traditional faith.

However, I believe in the Messiah, and am a practicing Christian. Sephardic Jews(Spanish, Eastern), are, by tradition, much more traditional and Conservative Jews than the other large group, Ashkenazis(European Jews). Thaiquila is an Askenazi Jew. That is why I constantly razz him all the time.

Sephardics tend to look at Ashkenazis as being less than what Jews should be, as they have such a high percentage of secular/G-dless and are riddled with Socialists and Marxists. wink.gif

But yes, in answer to your question, I respect my Jewish heritage and when I must use the word, I never completely spell it out.
