WASHINGTON, May 1 - The Republican chairman of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting is aggressively pressing public television to correct what he and other conservatives consider liberal bias, prompting some public broadcasting leaders - including the chief executive of PBS - to object that his actions pose a threat to editorial independence.

PBS has some shows that I like a lot. I particularly like NOVA and Nature. I also used to watch the McLaughlin Group.

However, that PBS uses tax money to support someone like Bill Moyers is absolutely ridiculous. On top of that, Bill Moyers keeps the rights to his videotapes, which he sells at profit.

Cut out the government subsidy. You can't force all tax payers to help eliminate commercials; especially considering many of those people giving their tax dollars don't watch PBS.

If advertisers move in, and PBS's ratings are high enough, then they can stay. That is, even if they are liberal. The more media sources we have both conservative and liberal, the better. He11, they can even keep running their annoying "Give us more money" campaign for 2 months. I never watch PBS during that time. Whenever I see them asking for money, I always think "don't you already get part of my paycheck?" Then click the remote...
