Interesting read.

Plain and simple truth laid out for all to see. Of course, I hate Bush's new proposal becomes it makes SS an even bigger welfare program. The private accounts are great though. At least it gives us the promise to one day opt completely out of SS. He11, the democrat and republican senators can already do it. Too bad they are corrupt SOBs. Which, by the way, I haven't heard anyone address this topic:

How come government employees get the Thrift Savings Plan, and everybody else has to stay in SS?

The Republicans are in charge right now and it is their burden to come up with a plan!

Lets have a unbiased look at duplicity and being hypocritical, shall we: wink.gif

Excerpt from the article that I found interesting: Actually, neither side is being completely honest. Bush fails to mention that upper-income and middle-income workers who retire in the future would get lower benefits under his plan than under the current benefit formula. And Democrats fail to mention that the current formula would cause future benefits nearly to double in buying power over the next 75 years, and can't be paid for by current tax rates.

Good article. I was listening to Bush's speech. It was clear to me what he was saying when he said it; however, I can't speak for everyone. I think we should freeze the growth rates of everyone to the level of inflation. Everything else is dishonest (including the system to begin with).
