But Gore most definitely won the popular vote, by several hundred thousand votes.. That is what liberals mean when they say Gore won the elections.
Sigh,..............that is not the correct definition of winning the election. Remember, we are not a democracy, and the Founders did this On Purpose. Thus, AlGore did NOT win the election. One must have a certain amount of Electorial Votes in order to win. And that is Constitutional. Anything else if simply intellectual laziness, or triffling ignorance.
The reason why so many on the Left are bemoaning this, and saying such things is because they are either too ignorant, or stupid to know better: or they are willfully lying to themselves. Or all of the above.
It is a closed and shut case. The Kook fringe should learn to get over it and for once, start coming up with some positive reasons to vote FOR their candidates, not AGAINST their opponents.
Here is what the WSJ has to say about the Dems in this great piece on
GM, France and Albany: What the declines of all three have in common.

This is the central problem the liberal wing of the Democratic Party faces as it plots what to do if it does regain power this year, or in 2008. Democrats will eventually win an election or two because of Republican ineptitude or an economic slowdown. But to govern for the long haul they need better ideas than trade barriers, a tax hike to increase the size of government, or the defense of the entitlement status quo.
They need to champion reforms to help individual workers better secure their own futures in a competitive global economy, rather than relying on the false hope of restoring the age of Walter Reuther. They need to promote portable pensions, cheaper health insurance and education choice. So far all we see is Jacques Chirac in American drag.
