Here is a really nice article by Dr. Thomas Sowell, concerning his new book by the samd title. What is so nice about the article is that the use of Black 'pigeion English' is actually old English practiced by Europeans and now being used by Blacks. I can remember my days at the Citadel, and the older gentleman in Charleston who studied "Gullah" and it's Scottish European rooks among South Carolina and Georgia Blacks living along the seaboard.

Good article, John. Like the comment about how it would be impossible today to set up schools in the South for Blacks to wean them from the Redneck culture.
I see quite a bit of what the article talks about where I work. We have some fairly well-educated African-Americans in the Oilfield and a lot of white-trash redneck whites.
Man, what a contrast!
