Defacing Jesus by Defacing the Qur'an

Sadly, few American fundamentalist Christians realize that Islam recognizes that Jesus was not a heretic, but brought a message from God to mankind and that he gave people a path to God and to Heaven.
Islam also recognizes his virgin birth and reveres his mother, Mary and his father, Joseph, and the Bible he brought from his Father, God. Muslims also believe that Jesus is in Heaven, taken their by God, and sits next to God in Heaven. All of this is in the Qur’an.

Thus, when the thugs who now are dishonoring our nation, dishonoring Christianity and dishonoring Islam, dishonor and desecrate the Qur’an, they are also desecrating their own Christian religion by behaving like the devil, not like children or believers in God or in the words and deeds of Christ. These thugs in uniform should be jailed and dishonorably discharged, as should their senior leaders be barred from office, and kicked out of the Department of Defense, starting with the most ignorant of them, Donald Rumsfeld.

Clearly, the Qur’an has been desecrated and clearly Muslims prisoners have been abused in countless, humiliating ways. Thus, it is Bush and Rumsfeld who should have apologized, not Newsweek Magazine. But, as politics and threats go, there has never been a president who threatened civil rights and the rights of free speech and truth like GW Bush and his henchmen. I call them henchmen because that is what they are—they are not “public servants,” but expect the public to serve them and think the U.S. Treasury is their private bank account to do with as they want.

The fact that over 98% of the Muslim world now distrusts and dislikes America makes clear that Bush cannot buy Muslim respect, and no matter his rhetoric of “we came to help,” and “we came to spread democracy,” all the while he is tearing away the fabric of society in Iraqi, Afghanistan, threatening Syria, is not pushing Israel to stop abusing the Palestinians, and has plans for more bases in Muslim lands.

Clearly, Bush is so ignorant, as are his advisors, Cheney and Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz that they keep thinking they can will their way to power in the world—all the time making more enemies who will stand against America until Bush and his minions are gone, and maybe even then, longer if such idiots as Kerry get into the White House (Howard Dean is another man who can’t see beyond the Bush vision of war in Iraq—so the Democrats don’t offer any hope except in the person of Dennis Kucinich—but the Democratic Party will not allow Dennis the time of day.)

It is a shame that our media have become so cowardly, but then again, they have been cowardly since Bush went into Iraq, lying for him at will, and even the once-respected New York Times keeps giving us the lady reporter caught in lie after lie, Judith Miller, and the Zionist leaning, Tom Friedman. They are not willing to stand with Newsweek and fight against the suasive censorship of Bush and his media blitz against them—because Newsweek was right, it was Bush who was wrong and all the new outed documents show this to be true. Dozens of former detainees have spoken of desecration of the Qur’an and abuse of their Muslim practices and their bodies. That’s all the Newsweek article said—it was true, but Bush and his buddies made them eat it and they did.

We refuse to lie down and die, to kiss the feet of this two-bit dictator—Bush and his henchmen and their thugs in Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib should, and must, be brought up before an international tribunal for abuse of prisoners and their religions so that they may be rightfully punished.

In the meantime, I am sure any true Christian is upset with these thugs and their leaders for the wrongs they have done and continue to do in the world. It is my hope that God will put an end to their lawless and evil deeds, for to desecrate the Qur’an, was to not only attack God and desecrate his ways and words, but also Jesus Christ.

Don't you get tired of singing that tired old song of pessimism?

How Muslims feel about Christ is fairly irrelevant to fundamentalist Christians, so long as they do not feel he is the Messiah. Their view that he was only a Prophet is considered Heresy by Christians. Either way fundamentalist Christians in the US are almost categorically FAR more concerned with American Social issues such as Abortion and Gay Marriage than they are with US Foreign Policy in the Middle East.
