Where is Newt on this list?

I feel he will make a strong bid for the nomination.

Welcome to the Bear Pit MrPund. Yes, Newt is in the running at this point. He is out there on book signings and the like getting people familiar with him. Although he does carry some baggage it is nothing compared to the baggage Hillary carries. He would make a formidable candidate. wink.gif

Unfortunately Newt would not make a good candidate, I have concluded. He does not have the temperment. Where newt is strongest is in the party intellectual category, plus he has too much baggage. He is a great strategist, and is able to help point the party in the direction it needs to go. Unfortunately, it is starting to fail at this point.

It needs an intellectual "high Priest" and Newt is the best one for the job: not President though. If Condi Rice runs, I will most likely vote Republican. If John McCain is the nominee, I will spend twenty hours a week promoting the Libertarian candidate, that is for sure.

Otherwise, I will most likely go Libertarian anyway. The Republicans are slowly working themselves into a snug little complacent position, and they need a rude awakening. Perhaps an election cycle out of power in at least one branch will cause them to sober up and get off the Statist sause.

Unfortunately the Democrats are incapable of getting rid of their elitist, Collectivist leadership, so they can't be counted upon.

Rice stated she would not run, but mabye a Ike-Like Draft will come along and she will run by popular demand.

Perhaps a Rice/Newt ticket would be a good combination?

Don't have much of a clue who the GOP will be running in 08. I am fairly confident it will not be Condi, or Dick, so I am pretty unenthusiastic about all of them.
Thaiquila
Don't the Aunt Jemima people sell RICE too?
Ben-T
I can't remember the last black conservatives that the Left didn't accuse of being an Uncle Sam.

Even with Affirmative Action, opposition to private school vouchers, and the Welfare state still under you belt, you haven't filled out your racist quota for the decade yet I guess?
Thaiquila
Uncle TOM, Virginia, not Uncle SAM.
Black people who support the party that supports the rich elite at the expense of the middle class and poor are indeed betraying their own people.
Ben-T
Blacks who don't buy into a welfare state that has destroyed the black family, resistance to tax vouchers that will give black parents educational choices about where to send there children and help get their children OUT of the ghettoes for their education, and affirmative action that doesn't help ease the problem of institutionalized racism but perpetuates it are betraying their own people.

I'm glad the very Jewish, very Liberal, Thaiquilla living in Thailand knows just what party the American black must vote for if he doesn't want to betray his people. Hmm...the esteemed Herman Cain comes to mind.

Oh, and yes, TQ, I am aware it is Uncle Tom. I chose UNCLE SAM for a reason. Squint real hard and see if your reading comprehension goes up. And it's true blue Massachusetts here, not Virginia.
Thaiquila
You are endorsing a book endorsed by wild eyed MADMAN Zell Miller.
Nuff said.
I don't speak for blacks.
Blacks speak for blacks.
Something like NINETY PERCENT of them voted AGAINST bush as well they should have.
The other ten percent, perhaps they are rich and voted in their own self interest, ignoring their fellows, which is their right, but that doesn't make them very noble.
Ben-T
"All blacks should vote for the Democratic party. All blacks who do not vote for the Democratic party are race-traitor uncle toms. This is indicated by the fact that the majority of blacks who vote choose to vote for the Democratic party."

BTW, the Black republican vote is generally generated by the BLACK EVANGELICAL MOVEMENT:

Which is strong and growing stronger. Another 15 to 20% swing in the black vote would moreorless assure total GOP hegemony, but I suppose that is the DNC's problem.

BTW nice job on fufilling the prophecy I made about you with that bit of well-poisoning there with Zell Miller. Do you have a reason he is somehow not credible? Oh yeah, he disagrees with you.

QUOTE (alternet.org)
In Florida and Wisconsin, *Republicans aggressively courted and *wooed key black religious leaders. They dumped big bucks from Bush's Faith-Based Initiative program into church-run education and youth programs. Black church leaders not only endorsed Bush, but in some cases they actively worked for his re-election, and encouraged members of their congregations to do the same.
*Underlining and boldness is mine
You can fool some of the people some of the time; but you can't fool all the people all of the time! Once Rove gets what he wants from them, and he throws them out to the trash, we will see how loyal they stay to him!

BTW: those evangelicals that stood in church and convinced members of voting a certain way should have their church's tax exemption removed. wink.gif

QUOTE ( alternet.org)
Bush and the Republicans bank that their strategy of bypassing black Democrats and civil rights leaders to make deals with black evangelicals will finally break the decades-long stranglehold Democrats have had on the black vote. If they're right, it will spell deep peril for the Democrats in future elections.

Those deals will reek of their true value before the next election in 06 or 08. smile.gif

Found this story from that same site that I found to be interesting too!

Yes it's in 2006 truly Bush will finally get his!

Just like he was going to in 2000, 2002, and 2004.
Thaiquila
How true, Bent.
It sure is about time!
Bend over bush ... and do forget the lube!
Ben-T
...In 2000, 2002, and 2004!

Democrats are so cute when they think they are about to win.
Thaiquila
I don't actually think we are going to win.
I lost all confidence in the intelligence of American voters in the last election.
They knew they were lied to, and they said, oh well!
Ben-T
Yeah, the people simply aren't qualified to run their own lives!

Nope, the left has always been racist to African Americans who see the truth and refuse to betray their ancestors by voting for the party that betrayed America to keep them enslaved.

However, that is finally changing, the brainwashing is wearing off. They aren't buying into the whole "let the government slove everything for you" sh1t anymore.

The Democratic party has been, is now, and always will be the party of slavery, and ANY AA that votes that way is a traitor to their people.
