Full Version: Thailand as an Absolute Monarchy Country!
Political Topics And Discussion > All Things Political > Asia Political Topics
The Anti-Monarchy Rebel
There is no freedom of speech in a country like Thailand. I got kicked out from Thailand Forum sooo many times for posting intellectual arguments about Thailand Government and Thai Monarchy. Talking about Monarchy (any kinds of Monarchy) was just impossible on the Thai boards and it sucks like hell. However, i foolishly and accidentally got inside a Forum about Thailand that happens to be in Thailand or owns by somebody who is Thai. I just recently registered for this forum and i hope that this is not just another Thai forum owns by Thais or its government. Unfortunately, it seems as if there is no forum rule on this forum because the website of bearpit.net forum rule does not show anything and i also hope that talking about Thai politics and Monarchy or Socialism or Marxism is allowed in this forum. The style design of this forum looks exactly the same as Thailand Forum and i feared that free speech is not allowed in here. Well, let me tell you why: I was saying Thailand has characteristics of an Abosolute Monarchy Country which is a very old, regime, primitive form of government while it represents certain democratic principles/values such as free election of its sub-government or its Prime Minister. In Thailand, if you make any kinds of negative comments about Monarchy, you can end up in jail if you are Thai, or if you are a foreigner then you would be kicked out from Thailand and your visa would be invalid. Basically, Thailand is still a regime country that violates the Freedom of Speech or there is no First Ammenmend. blink.gif

(Please noted that my thread is NOT ABOUT THE KING OF THAILAND AND HIS FAMILY BUT IT IS ABOUT THAILAND HAVING ABSOLUTE MONARCHY RULES/PRINCIPLES AND ITS EFFECT ON BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS IN THAILAND.)
The Anti-Monarchy Rebel
Sorry for my ignorance, I forgot to mention that the transition from absolute monarchy to constitutional monarchy had not gone well in Thailand. Officialy, Thailand is a Constitutional Monarchy but it still represents Absolute Monarchy principles. Well, i don't know why. It would be better if Thailand is as Constitutional as in UK. There was no Magna Carta that the King had to sign in Thailand but in England, an English King signed it in the late Middle Age to limit the power of Monarchs. In other words, in constitutional monarchy, the Monarchs rule the country as priviledge given by his own people and not because in the name of God or not because God said so and it is not their rights. biggrin.gif

(I BET THAT THIS MUST BE ANOTHER THAI BOARD OR SOMETHING. I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS HOSTED BY FOREIGNERS AND I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS RESOLD AGAIN AND AGAIN. IT IS ALSO IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE. LET ME KNOW IF THIS IS ALSO A THAI BOARD PLEASE BECAUSE I DID NOT COME HERE TO CAUSE TROUBLES TO ANY THAIS. HOW CAN THE THAIS EXPECT THAT PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET KNOWS THAT THIS FORUM IS IN THAILAND? HOW CAN YOU EXPECT THAT WE ALL KNOW THE RULES IN THAILAND? YAHOO.COM SUGGESTED ME TO COME TO THAILAND FORUM FOR POSTING THINGS ABOUT THAILAND AS WELL AS BEARPIT. IT LOOKS IDENTICLE TO THAILAND FORUM. ANOTHER THING, SOMEBODY ON THAI BOARD SUGGESTED ME TO COME TO USE BEARPIT FORUM FOR POSTING ABOUT GOVERNMENT OF THAILAND.PLEASE TELL ME THE TRUTH. THERE IS NO FORUM RULE AT ALL? I DON'T SEE ANY FORUM RULE BUT I ASSUMED THAT USING BAD WORDS IS NOT ALLOWED BUT POSTING ABOUT THAILAND IS ALLOWED...) I HOPE THAT I AM RIGHT...

My comments on other forums are terrific and i think that i should also post them here. There are no bad words but i got kicked out simply because i was talking about Monarchy. Many Thais were offended and did not allowed any kinds of negative posts about their government like i mentioned above and it sucks like hell. Thats because you felt that it is offensive but it was not offensive at all. hmmmmmm you guys sounded Thais. Sorry we are in a public opinion forum and not like that sucky Thailand Forum which was very weird so you better make some intellectual arguments about this thread otherwise it is useless for you to be here and post nonsense as well as waisting my time.

I am not here to talk about your fracas but about debate and politics of Thailand and this was also why i visited the other sucky forum that did not talk about Thai Government. Whether it is a fracas to you or not but it is still a debate on whether my arguments are true or not. Get it? Instead of waisting time, why not making any arguments about this thread?

Guy, I wasn't offended at all. Where do you get that? You do sound offended, though, which I'm totally confused about.

I think you are putting thoughts/words into my head and mouth that are strictly of your making, and reacting as if they are true. They're not. This is not a good start to any intellectual discussion. Take that chip off your shoulder. We aren't Thais.

Whatever.

Why should i be offended by you or by John L since they saw it as fracas? I personally assumed that it is people's ignorance to assume that it is fracas without even making any kinds of arguments. you see. For me they are not fracas. Come on! prove it!

I wasn't accusing you of creating a fracus, OK? That's all of your doing.

And, I've told you I'm not informed about Thailand. I was only trying to welcome you to this forum and you started off with getting insulted at your imagined insults by others. However, we have been having an intellectual discussion, just of another sort.

Goodbye. This discussion is a waste of time. It's over with me.

But, I do want to express my admiration for your use of the English language, as you are most likely a Thai. I"m not bilingual and admire anyone who is. Stick around, but just quit being so defensive and looking for insults that aren't there.

When he immediately came back to me like that I decided that we are talking to a former member, who has been banned and is trying to come back through stealth. Unfortunately, they just can't break "training", so to speak.

I don't know who D.B. is, but "sTroll", "Sickboy", "Lamphun", or others come readilly to mind.

I'm certain that this person is a banned person. He isn't worth the effort. He will expose himself eventually. Phil will take care of things.

It's one of the banned members. The attempt to manipulate pigeon English is lame to me. He is too savy to be a Thai national. No, it's one of the "old gang", such as "Sickboy", "sTroll", "Lamphun", or "Butterfly". Come to think of it, I think it to be Butterfly. It matches his MO, from what I can see.

Georgie will be able to sniff him out even better than I can. But rest assured, it is one of the gang of misfits, come back to urinate in the room.

I am not sure who this anti-monarchist is. Or why he assumes he knows anything about the King of Thailand and his family or how the Thai people feel about their King.

I assure this. Having been back and forth nearly yearly since I Married my Chinese Thai wife who graduated with me at our University, I unquestionable belief, the King and his wife are very honorable people, who care devotedly about their countrymen.

I have seen it first hand in many ways over these 27 years. Three of my wife’s sisters got both their Undergraduate and Graduate degrees from his very hands. Two of my Nieces have as well.

Our friend appears to lacks an obvious understanding that any western measure of how the Thai people feel about their King is NO measure at all.

Particularly the fact that it is in debasing the King while in Thailand possibly deadly, not to mention illegal to in any way degrade or to debase the King or his family in Thailand.

As such, the Thai Forum's this anti-monarchist came from, to which he seems to know less about than the King of Thailand, is a forum that originates in ownership from Thailand. The owner, George, though using servers in Hong Kong, lives there and being based there, is subject to those laws. If one read the forum rules, up front, they would know, any degradation of the King of Thailand was automatic reason for permanently being banned.

I would suggest for anyone who would have the intellectual curiosity to examine the King of Thailand's relationship to effect the affairs of this Republican Parliamentary Democracy that is of Thai originality and idiosyncrasies not applicable opt should be to some other measure of Farang rational.

If they would examine the PM of Thailand, the most powerful in many years, tactical reaction, after recently been attacked with political allegations by various media sources they would see that he responded by taking legal actions to in join and shut down legally those attacks via cease a and desist rulings pending the trail.

Yet, but with one sentence, in a speech on another topic, the King implied indirectly the PM should accept criticism and defend himself through the Democratic process. The next day the PM dropped the legal actions and media sources have now not been silenced.

Likewise, the King of Thailand was technically, before his ascension to the thrown, a United States Citizen by the fact he was born here. He and his wife were educated in the United States, at Harvard, if I am not mistaken. He also has at least One daughter who gave up her royal status to marry an American and is a US citizen. Many relatives have attended Universities throughout the country.

I would also remind our Friend that a King Rama IV I believe, being a great admirer of Lincoln, offered to send him War Elephants to assist him in the Civil War.

Beyond that, Thai for Thai is what it is, Thai, not farang, though sadly more corrupted by its disrespectful decadent amorality seeming represented by our new friend each year.

I am so happy to see someone making good points about this thread. smile.gif This is what i wanted to see and everyone on this forum can begin a nice discussions like ustrader is making. Nice work ustrader and thanks for posting your opinion about the thread i created! I TOTALLY AGREED with some of your points. Personally, i do not know much about the King of Thailand and i think that he is a very good, honest man. Despite that my screen name: The anti-monarchy rebel, I am not against King of Thailand and his Family. I posted this thread to discuss more about the ideology of Monarchy Government since Bearpit Forum is about World Government and Politics but not about King's Private Life and not about his Family. I did not mention anything about the King and his Family. I also focused on Violation of Human Rights. why? Because Thailand still have Absolute Monarchy principles while the country is officially Constitutional Monarchy and having democratic principles like free election. Maybe im wrong, but it is good to share ideas with you and many Thais. I was also talking about transition from absolute to constitutional monarchy in Thailand. I hope that my comments are not offensive at all. However, most of my words and my opinions are based on my History class' lesson about Monarchy that i studied at Schools and University. They were not offensive at all! I never post any bad words on any forum in my life. For example: I think that it is good if Thailand would have been as constitutional as in UK and i am not saying that Thais should overthrow their government. You made good points ustrader but i do not know what you mean when you said: "Yet, but with one sentence, in a speech on another topic, the King implied indirectly the PM should accept criticism and defend himself through the Democratic process." because there is no such Democratic process that defends a Monarch... I personally never heard of this. The Democratic process defends the country's people and allowing the people to vote for the candidates to be their next leader.
Anyway, ustrader, you did not change my thinking about Violation of Freedom of Speech in Thailand and i am not soo interested about The King and his Family. ANYWAY, THANKS FOR MAKING GOOD POINTS AND BEST REGARDS TO YOUR WIFE AND HER SISTERS AND BEST WISHES TO MAJESTY THE KING OF THAILAND AND HIS FAMILY! biggrin.gif

Whose Human Rights yours, cause the Thai do not see it that way at all.

They say your posting from Scandnavia, if so, do you like Americans telling you how to act, think and behave in your own country.

We are famous for that you know. Maybe we can come there and examine your way of looking at life and find it disagreeable to us and seek a Human rights vision of our own for you! hey?

Or maybe, if we do find your ways disagreeable to us, we should stay away from you and let you do what you will as long as it does not come over to us! hey?

I would like to know if you are not Thai why it is any concern of yours that the Thai love having a Royal Family hey?

Don't use the USA interfering in other affairs of others cause we are the great devil any way, that is our job right. hey?

I am not a topic myself because now everyone starts posting about me in a bad image. Anyway, all i leave to you and to all members of Bearpit Forum is the thread to continue with their free speech and free discussions about why or why not Human Rights are violated due to certain Monarchy Principles that still exist in Thailand. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! and this is my gift. Take it easy dude i was just posting a thread that had to do with Human Rights. Actually, i think i should create a new thread about Human Rights and i should be a Human Rights activist in Thailand... wink.gif Think of me as a friend from heaven who loves Thailand and wanted Freedom of Speech for everyone in that country.

A very easy phrase... rolleyes.gif

Mr. Boon Mee, i am glad that you are here. You are a moderator and you know that this is an English Forum not a Thai Forum. And i believe that not everyone in here are Thais and understand Thai Language im afraid. You got to put some light onto your comments so that everyone will understand and can read it. No, this is not quite an easy phrase because for me, it looks like an alien language. Hmmmm. Let me guess. This is my translation: "This is the Land of Smile, and Thai people like me, really loves "Farang" people and welcome many tourists in Thailand.". you know. I hope that your words sounded very sweet and nice like many Thai people used to say. biggrin.gif

BUT!!! HOWEVER MR. BOON MEE, TOMORROW I WILL BRING YOUR THAI COMMENTS IN THAI TO THE ROYAL THAI EMBASSY IN MY COUNTRY BECAUSE I AM INTERESTED ABOUT WHAT IT REALLY MEANS. I AM VERY SERIOUS TO KNOW WHAT IT REALLY MEANS AND I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO LEARN THAI LANGUAGE. I WILL LET THE ROYAL THAI EMBASSY IN MY COUNTRY TO TRANSLATE YOUR THAI COMMENTS YOU MADE. AND TOMORROW, I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHAT IT REALLY MEANS...

No need there TMAR - the translation goes: nai rá-yá yaao aa jà mee pŏn sĭa mâak. In the long term - there could be some bad effects.

What does it mean when you said "In the long term - there could be some bad effects? Is it a menace? You dare to menace me?! Because you think that i am afraid of you? This is the similar Thai Menace you made on the Thread: "Who runs the show in Thailand: A taboo topic?" and that you said that my life expectancy on here would not be as long as i imagine. Does it mean i could not come back to this forum because i will get a long term bad effects? I came into this forum just for 1 day to have discussions and it sounded as if somebody will come and cut my head! Don't worry Mr. Boon Mee because I would never go to Thailand anymore because of your menace and i bet that other people would not dare to go to the The Land of Smile. Your job is to menace people whom you disagreed with or you dislike them? You are too serious about the topic. We'll see about this... I will go to see a Thai Ambassador of Royal Thai Embassy here in my country and make a complain.

Everyone, please post good comments on this forum otherwise this guy will continue his menace and might cut people's head like it is about to happen to me.
Let me correct you: I did not post any bad comments about the King of Thailand and i was just saying that anyone who make bad comments would get into trouble in Thailand. Mr. Boon Mee, YOU SCARED ME BADLY BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR..... BANG!!! Because you are a James Bond 007 who goes and menace and kill everyone in this world and terrorizing, menacing forum members over the internet.blink.gif

I WOULD WARN TO ALL MEMBERS ON THIS FORUM AND REPORT THIS TO CNN WORLD NEWS AND FOX NEWS ABOUT THE SAFETYNESS OF TOURISTS IN THAILAND AND THE SAFETYNESS OF ALL MEMBERS ON THIS FORUM AND THEIR FREEDOM OF SPEECH. MR. BOON MEE, IF YOU REALLY HAVE THESE IDEAS THEN I WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU GO AND FIGHT IN SOUTHERN THAILAND RATHER THAN FIGHTING WITH ME OR COMING TO THIS FORUM AND MAKING MENACES. rolleyes.gif

WHAT A SHAME, IT LOOKS LIKE THIS IS MY LAST TIME ON THIS BEARPIT FORUM AND IT IS MY FIRST DAY WITH BAD WELCOMING MESSAGES AND BECAUSE I AM SOOOOOOOOO AFRAID THAT SOMEONE WOULD CUT MY HEAD OFF. GOSH I AM OUT!!!!!!!!! ARRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! blink.gif

This thread is going nowhere & I believe the 'Fat Lady' has sung her last w/respect to this highly controversial subject.

Not surprised you've been tossed off other forums TAMR for bad behavior.
