Actually, the "Origional" Democratic Party goes back much further than that. It goes back to the beginning of the nation, when it was called The Democratic Republican Party. It is people, such as myself, who used to make up the 19th century Party.
However, true Liberals like myself, are now extinct within the party. What a shame!
