I'm thinking Senator George Felix Allen, unless he gets touched by the Abramoff scandal, has a real good chance of being the GOP nominee in 08.

Since Reagan left office, GOP politics have more or less been dominated by "Who can make the most convincing heir to Ronald Reagan?"

Allen has all the right ingredients.

He appears likely to follow the Reagan code (Cut back the government, beef up the military) hes the son of a major American sports hero, and he has a clean, wholesome image.

Thoughts?

Tiny Tim? TQ is good at "tip-toeing" through the fluff and clutter.

George Allen and Mitt Romney are going to be the ticket. Just what order I don't know. Probably Romney/Allen....though I prefer Allen to be President. We need a true conservative in office to handle the War on Terror and to cut taxes.

I don't think it will be both of them together, as it does not work out demographically. Both are from the north east corridor(I know Allen is from Va), but a southerner or mideast red state would be best.

I still think that the choice running mate will be Rice, since she stated that she was not interested in the Big job. The second spot would actually round out her job sheet, before making the choice of a lifetime. Somehow, I believe it will be Rice on the ticket.

Either way, I still plan to vote Libertarian this time around, as the Stupid Republicans have not impressed me, since falling off the "Contract With America" bandwagon, back in the late 1990s.

Yeah I feel like the Contract With America had promise, but the GOP still hasn't learned how to accept their governing majority yet. Forty plus years of being in the minority is a mentality hard to overcome I suppose.

Well... After 12 years you'd think that they'd get the hang of it by now...

Right now I don't have a pick for the Republicans, however I hope the Panzycrats run Hillary. What a show when she get's her butt kicked all the way around the block in '08. laugh.gif

I HOPE he runs and wins - Hillary would slaughter him!

The only republican candidate I fear is John McCain.
