This is just too much! I realize that GW promised to seek common ground with his political opponents and go out of his way to get along with them, but this? This is taking things a bit much, in my opinion. I realize that Bubba is the perfect person to take along on a Pub Crawl, but certainly not become a member of the family.

Is there a new member of the Bush family?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush says Bill Clinton has become so close to his father that the Democratic former president is like a member of the family.

Former President George Bush has worked with Clinton to raise money for victims of the Asian tsunami and the hurricane disaster along the U.S. Gulf Coast.

Asked about his father and Clinton, Bush quipped, "Yes, he and my new brother."

"That's a good relationship. It's a fun relationship to watch," Bush said in an interview with CBS News broadcast on Sunday.

While attending Pope John Paul's funeral, Bush said, "It was fun to see the interplay between dad and Clinton. One of these days, I'll be a member of the ex-president's club. ... I'll be looking for something to do."

He said ex-presidents share rare experiences that others cannot understand. "And so I can understand why ex-presidents are able to put aside old differences," he said.

Bush said he checked in with Clinton occasionally.

"And you know, he says things that makes it obvious -- that makes it obvious to me that we're kind of, you know, on the same wavelength about the job of the presidency. Makes sense, after all, there's this kind of commonality," he said.

Bush jokingly referred to speculation that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, the former president's wife, will seek the Democratic nomination for the presidency. He had earlier referred to the former first lady as "formidable."

"Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton," he said, referring to how Bill Clinton had followed his father, and Hillary Clinton could follow him.

Me thinks John and Bubba have more in common then at first glance....

Hmm, maybe Clinton and Dad Bush could influence George to actually help the Katrina victims instead of just talking about it.

I think it is a beautiful thing when a democrat and republican can come together like this. It is like a little black child making his first white friend in a racist society.

(I am not calling our society a racist society so stop thinking that!)

Yes, it's so wonderful, isn't it? Pappa Bush and Baby Bush say nice things about the new Bubba Bush. Baby Bush even sends Bubba Bush on missions that give him increased camera time.

Then Bubba Bush turns around and thanks both Bushes by cutting them down in front of the MSM, which manages to lap it up. This is what Bubba is best at doing, and not just with his newly adopted family either. It is Modus Opperendi. And people get teary eyed and think that this is simply the most wonderful thing that ever happened. And Bubba Bush lives happily ever after, gets to have it both ways, and screws more than his new lady friend.

Isn't that just Peachy? huh.gif

An Opine-

The orginal topic post and its tenure assumes that politicans have substance, mean what they say and are indeed ideological?

I would not demure toward that assumption at all. I would instead suppose that most politician within the last 40 years or so, in just about every case, if the truth be known, are NOT LIKELY to adhere strictly to most areas, if any at all.

If I am correct, why would alleged oppenents, who lack conviction, are not driven by substance nor ideology, not feel comfortable with one another post adversally?

It is, though seeming incompatible and lost in this era, okay for gentle"persons" to disagree. Yet still be civil enough not to be disagreeable in doing so.
