The Bush administration are not neocons. They are classical realists. It's a big difference. Neocons want to spread democracy and liberty across the globe in a big wave of joy. Realists want to create or maintain a balance of power favorable to their own nation, in this case the United States.
Other silly assertions made by the article include:
-The speculation that NeoCons cooked up the title to fool conservatives. Neocon was originally a pejoritive term they were labelled with by others.
-The idea that Leo Strauss advocated a dog eat dog world. That is nothing like the philosophy he advocated.
QUOTE
We have established clearly and undeniably that George W. Bush has assembled an administration on Neoconservative principles and a Neoconservative agenda
No we haven't. There are a few second tier policy makers who are neocons in the Bush administration, nobody else. If the Bush administration was based on neoconservative principles and a neoconservative agenda, it would behave much differently than it has.
QUOTE
Keep in mind that the Neo-Con philosophy states that no rules apply when it comes to achieving power, even lying and cheating.
Which neoconservative philosopher said anything to that effect at any time?
QUOTE
I have yet to come across a Bush supporter who is aware of the underlying philosophy of the Neocons who direct the policies of the current administration.
It would help if the author was aware of what the underlying philosophy of the neocons was. If he was, it would be quite obvious to him that the Bush Administration is not neoconservative in nature.
QUOTE
It is not possible for anyone to defend the goals of Neo-Conservatives and still claim to be an American. It is a contradiction of terms.
Which nefarious neocon goal contradicts with being an American? Advocating the spread of democracy? Supporting putting more cops on the beat as opposed to in patrol cars? Being a fan of charter schools?
The author is a silly man, and does not appear to understand either the motivations of the Bush administration or what a neoconservative is.
