Welcome yang. You seem to think that there are problems with the Chinese economy. Could you please elaborate. I know that in your rural areas their have been many problems between the villigers and the Chinese authority. It seems that only those living in the big cities are somewhat happy with your government.

So in your 謙遜的觀點 handsome makes a good leader and ugly makes a bad one?

Yes, we had a young 20 year girl at the White house who admired Clinton’s manliness as well. His wife proved to be very manly about that young girl and Clinton though.

Has not Taiwan been a major source of conflict between the US and China even when GW Bush was but a baby?

So, in truth of history, it really has nothing to do with Bush or Clinton as much as Taiwan and China and the old cold war animosities between Communism and Capitalism, don’t you think?

Indeed a handsome wage. I wish you much success in obtaining this amount or more. 長壽 , 繁榮, 愉快的生活

As I have read some on wages in China, I must assume if on the Mainland and not Hong Kong, you are being trained as a Professional in Technical Services, Financial Activities, Telecom, software ,computer service or maybe as an engineer?

I do NOT desire an answer from you, so please do not give one.

I know it was not very long ago unquestionably similar in how it was governed by the 中国共产党中央政治局常务委员会 pinyin: Zhōngguó Gòngchǎndǎng Zhōngyāng Zhèngzhìjú Chángwù Wěiyuánhuì) is a committee whose membership varies between 5 and 9 and includes the top leadership of the Communist Party of China. My last visit confirmed by American and Australian personnel there, say it is still but getting a bit more capitalistic with a growing interest in wealth every day at least in the big city east.

I do not know for myself, I do know when I traveled there on business of sorts, I was made to take a specific service who would not allow me to go some places I suggested I wanted to see.

QUOTE

The Chinese power lies in the industriousness of its people, who are natural capitalist. Where throughout the world where ever they are the business class in a free society sustained in the rule of law and democracy, they prevail marvelously, be it in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, in South America and even on the horn of Africa in what was South Africa.

I do know that China is spending monies in areas and in ways and on places that are of no consequence to 88% of its population which was blatantly obvious to me on my visit.

No one threatens China nor do I think the people of China wish to threaten anyone else. Yet, as a closed non-transparent society, its military build up leaves much to the imagination and as we know humans imagine always the worst don’t they.

Leaving Politics aside.

Do you live in a large city in the east or a provincial area less developed elsewhere?

Are you familiar with Hainan Province and a company called Hainan Pastoral Foreign Trade Co., Ltd? They sale among other things passion fruit a business we are a consumer off so to speak.

On my next trip, if the health holds out, I hope to travel to Da nang Vietnam and take a train to China as I have never been that way before.

You ever been to Thailand or elsewhere?

We are all very happy to have you aboard, Yang! Please stick around and talk to us.

Regarding Taiwan, Americans, including left wing Americans like me (who imperialist dog Americans call communist but they are wrong), think your country acts like a big bully towards Taiwan and have destoyed Tibet. We love the great Buddhist the Dalai Lama and do not like what China has done to him and his people. Why doesn't China just let Taiwan be Taiwan, INDEPENDENT of China, after all Taiwan is not a threat to you, they are way to small to do anything but try to defend themselves.

Of course, most of us know that the USA is a much BIGGER bully than China, thats what big powerful countries do, always have, and always will.

Do you eat much Western fast food like McDonalds? If so, please stop, it will make you fat and give you a heart attack.

Peace,

No Boon Me, in all honestly, I do not either speak nor write it in any manner of proficiency. As we all know, I do not even write and am presumed to not to speak English either.

I merely methodically and doggedly translate and re-translate using the numerous tools of translation. I also have many friends in my years in Government service who have obtained many language proficiency, of which, on occasion, I call on.

My wife is Thai but she and the family speak Cantonese at home, yet they all grasp some spoken Mandarin but little written.

So, in small narrow way, over all these nearly 30 years among them, some has, in a minor way wrangled its way into my thick skull as has some Thai.

As to my somehow threatened prognostic friend,

Hello, Yang. I am happy that you are writing to us on this website.

My best friend has a name like you have. He is from Shanghai, and he is Chinese, but he lives in America (the USA). We both went to Shanghai last month. It was my second visit to China. I was in Shanghai both times.

Do you live in a big city, or a small city, or a town, or a village?

I am from the USA but I live in Thailand. I was an English teacher here for two years, until I had a motorcycle accident, last year.

What subjects do you study in the university? How old were you when you started to learn English?

I hope that is not too many questions. I hope that you are enjoying talking with us. Thank you, Yang.

Were those lyrics from "The Walrus"?

Note to Yang: some foreign people, like us, enjoy remembering the words from famous popular songs, all the way back to the 1960's, even. And some Hollywood movies, too, like when the man says at the end, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a d*a*m*n." And when Arnold Schwarzeneggar was an actor, and he said things like "I'll be back." But Arnold didn't grow up speaking English, so it sounds like "I'll be bock."

I went in China last summer, i'd been there 2 months, in Hong Kong, Macao, Shangai and Beijing.
I'm Italian, I'm 28 and i'm an "Academyc Deputy". we are a youth activist organization (Progetto Roma 3) which has very clear ambitions throughout all its university activities, taking example from the Italian Right.

I'd like to know if in China ,Mainlands and new Territories, is it possible youth participation in party-politics or join youth political activist association.

Hi, godbaby. Thanks for joining us. I have a question.

My best friend, in his university days, walked around Shanghai just before the tanks started rolling in Bejing, Tienamen Square. He said that their mayor of Shanhai, Mr. Jian Jeming, allowed the protestors to parade without killing them. And, maybe that's why Mr. Jian became the next premier.

When I've been in Shanghai, in 2006 and 2004, the internet cafes seemed to be...open. As in, a place where young people can come in and communicate - carefully- around the world.

Does China give its young adults much more freedom now, than their grandparents had?

You know what, the only party you can join here is The Communist Party. China also has some democratis parties, but we don't know much about those. However, some of my professors are members of those parties, in fact, those parties , as far as I know , their members are all well-educated, having honorable jobs.
They can join in politics as Politics consulting union.

I have read this topic.

Chinese government did ban lots of websites because it is illegal to spread eroticism in China and provide any erotic service. Most of erotic website servers are in US.The gambling is also banned by Chinese law. They provide illegal pages in Chinese. But I test the pages written in english, they are readable.

But the access control tech is awful, for example ,Google will not work if the researh results contain illegal content by accident.

I don't know what the "freedom" you refered to.I did explain that the roit in 1989 is not a regular protest in other article.

If someone try to raise a red flag in front ot White House and force the guards burnt the flag of US,what will Bush administration do?

In 1989,lot's of students in Wuhan also paraded in the street, they also was "allowed parade without killing them".Because The Constitution of PRC provide people rights to parade.(But the organizer should provide enough information about the parade ,include the parade route etc.)

Things are different in Beijing.Someone instigated crowds to attack the polices and guards, wanted to overturn the government. It obviously not allowed.

to anser your first question, i'd like to say i know foreign media has always keeped reporting chinese government spend huge amount money on military construction and pay less attention to the undevelopped areas in china and reports like this alway give people the impression that chinese goverment is a unhunmanitarian authority. just as one of my American teacher said to me that China should not lauch the manned rocket as it cost so much money and should pay these money to improving the living standard of chinses people. my answer is yeah, you are partly right, but on the contrary, i don't think developping our hitech is a abosolute contradiction to improving our people's living standard, even though the funds is limited.
the chinese government would make a budget every year to make sure how much money to invest in each field and keep the budget dynamic with the changing situation. some people might say chinese government spend too much on military, and i want to ask how much does USA ,Japan, Russia, EU, Inida, spend on military? internationl society act quite much like a jungle, nobody can rely on except developing oneself. military construction is a extremely important part of in nation's developping blueprint. i suppot my conuntry's accelerating military moderlization--- as i know , balance of power between super powers would lead to peace instead of war . This is what American government is doing right now, keep itself the most powful and try every effort to depress the other nations in order to keep hegamenism in the world, it's my personal view, if i have used some impolite words i hope you will forgive me.

and as for your second question, i would say : no!abosolutly no! chinese people never regards Americans as enemy! in fact chinese like Americans very much, my american friends are very easy to get touch with and we often go out to have a big meal and share each opinion on various topics without any constrain. in fact, american people is welcomed in China, not just me, many other people hold the same view.
some people just make a conclusion as China is the biggist socialism country and America is the largest
capitalist country so they tend to be enemy..........a pure extension of cold war thought.......... tongue.gif
another point i 'd like to say is , chinese citizens like american people, but not the american government.
we have so many reasons: in 1999 , chinese embrassy in fomer yugoslaiva was bombed by US, three chinese diplomats were killed (American media say thah's because yugoslaiva president is in chinese embrassy,or there are military devices in chinese embrassy). in 2001 american aeroplane crash into chinese plane (american media say chinese plane crash into american plane), and as for the Tai Wan issue, American government is selling advanced arms to Tai Wan............how can you make chinese people like american government.......

i don't really know how much american people hate bush unsure.gif .........
but i personally feel is bush is a lovely guy, the main opinion of chinese on bush, i think is , yeah , bush is disklikable , but seems not that much dislikable...........

when i graduate from school , i will be very satisfied if i can get 500 Us dollars per month.

i quite know american people think we live in a totalitanrian country, but it depend on when and whom we compare with. chinese university students usually feel satisfied as compared with 10 r 20 years or even 30 years ago, or compared with many other undevelopped countries, let's say, North Korea. we have already own so much. everyone realize the progress of the society is a gradual process. sharp change in society can only lead to tradegy, such as 1989 tian an men, or just as Russian economy. reading here, you might think our head have been washed by the government laugh.gif , in fact, that' s not the truth. there is a famous chinese saying: the economic foundation determins its higher building. a nation's domestic infrastracture relys on its people. the real situation of chinese economic foundation is still very rough, China still have large areas of rural areas. the most urgent needs of people there is to have a full meal, to be educated. and that's what chinese government is trying to do. you might say the chinese government should give the people voting right...or some other right......but that's because you have never went to chinese villiages, you don't know in many chinese villiage when voting for a offcial position, the candidates bribes the voters and even fight eacher. how can you expect people who have just received junior middle school education to responsibly use its voting right.........
xiaodong
and my personal view is the chinese government should keep a powerful control on the society, only in this way can we focus on economic construction rather than lauch a voting campain throughout the whole country every 4 years, under china's real social situation, i think presidential campains and election would probably lead to riots , or even breaking up war, just like american civil war. As chinese economy develops gradually, the political system will chage correspondingly.
of course, there are many problems in a one-party-control system, but that's another topic.

question 1 .Are you going to go prison for talking to us decadent capitalist anti communist westerners?

abosolutly no , as you use "decadent" to describe capitalist's position in China, i can see your view on China still remains in 1980s of last century. i hope in 2008 you can come to China and see what the situation is really like. Now chinese government' s economic policy is : make efforts to develop personal economy. personal economy is just the same with your word : decadent capitalist. And chinese government allow and encourage these "decadent capitalist" to join communist party, this is exactly what i mentioned in the above post: chinese communist party and chinese political system will change correspondingly with the economic developments.

============
In 1980's -1990's most of Taiwanese thought them real Chinese than Chinese lived in mainland, as they kept most of Chinese traditions and culture while commies destroyed everything in mainland.

When Lee, the president, whose background is more closed to Japanes, came into power, the independent power became legally and much stronger, Chen, as next president who is also chairman of DPP, is well known for his independence opinion. The movement so called "de-Chinese"(wipe off all Chinese characteristic) is just washing brains and confused most of Taiwanese Chinese, and more and more locals thought they are only Taiwanese, but it's not true. DPP created and creats history by themselves by lying, which is one of the reasons that they are punished by presidential election in 2008.

KMT and the new president Ma had a good start, and the brains will be washed back.

China needs Taiwan, not only for face an/or history, but also because it's strategically important, if you look at a map.

Before I read some articals about funding of pro-dalai organizations, I have some questions: why there are some many Tibetan protestors travelling around the world to stop the torch relay, it costs a lot of money, are someone paying for that? I saw so many advertisements and posters suppporting Dalai in London, Paris and San Francisco which are very expensive, who paid that? and why they paid that? and for what they paid that?

The articals I read said the funding of pro-Dalai is arranged by a German fundation and also linked with state concil of US. I think I found the answer to my questions, it's another cold war.

By the way, not only you guys, but also my German friends said they like the Asian smile of Dailai Lama, pure and friendly.
But do you know they used body skin of Tibetan for sacrifice in 1950's, do you like that smile still? do you want to know more real story happened in Tibet more than BBC or CNN?
