Hello guys,

Check out an article about recent policy of the EU and the U.S. toward North Korea which resulted in militarization of the communist regime. It is an analysis of numerous mistakes of European and American decision-makers made over several last years, beginning from Clinton Administration through the Bush Administration.

A direct link to the article is here:

Any comments and views warmly welcomed.

I would submit that its much more likely that North Korea is run by humans. (Having seen Kim Jong Il, I will leave it as an open possibility that humans are not in charge).

As humans, they are self-interested actors, and like any other self-interested actors, especially males, seek dominant status in their region.

Of course, one cannot be dominant if one is not taken seriously, and for a state such as North Korea, the fastest route to being taken seriously is clear. Build a bomb.

Somehow, I was under the impression that they were "militarized" a great deal before recently. Of course, I could be wrong, living in another universe, or "whatever", but I do not think so. It just looks like the same old "peace Loving" Peoples Democratic regime to me.
