As United Nations Resolution 1701 is passed the Israelis have tripled the number of Israeli military forces in Southern Lebanon. This is clearly in violation of the spirit of United Nation Resolution 1701. There is no other nation in the world that is in violations of so many United Nations Resolutions and other International Laws as State of Israel. The Israeli will use so-called “legal loopholes” in the laws and resolutions saying they did not have to comply.

To compound things even more the United Nation passes Resolution 1701 saying they will send up to 15,000 United Nations Troops to keep the peace along side 15,000 Lebanese soldiers. Neither of who are battle trained nor ready to fight like the Israeli and Hezbollah forces. The Israeli the military in control of the region will make it near to impossible for the United Nations to carry out its mandate. Only NATO forces have the clout with Turkey playing a pivotal role in defusing this crisis. The Israeli and the United States are the partners in the war crimes in Lebanon. With the majority of the Israeli heavy military armament made in the United States and a lot of it paid for by American taxpayers.

The truce for how ever long it may last. Will be an open a widow for the outside world to see the horrific damage done to Southern Lebanon by the Israeli military forces. The American people will see how their tax dollars are being spent by Israel. From the very beginning of the War the Israeli made it clear they were not going after the Lebanese government or people. They were going after Hezbollah. The evidence left behind in the destruction of Lebanon will point to the contrary. It will point to collective punishment of the Lebanese people. With the majority of the damage that the Israelis have done in Lebanon was with American made weapons of death and destruction.

The Israeli see no wrong in their actions in Lebanon. For they have been doing it to the Palestinian people for many years. Israel is a nation built and trained to go to war in the name of national security. For every war Israel fights the blowback becomes greater because they are fighting for the unjust occupation of another people land. Yes, there are many problems on both sides. Without us addressing the problems on our side there chance for the other side to address their own problems from within. http://www.globalcrier.blogspot.com/

David 2004. I like the article and commentary. I think the US has created the terrorists of the world, starting with the PLO in the 1970's/1970's because of the stand Israel has taken in the Middle East and the US dying devotion to her.

Time to admit our errors and elect people to office who want peace with the Arabs after decades of antagonism

Hey Dave and Laredo, isn't Lebanon supposed to disarm Hezbollah in that same resolution? Maybe they'll get to it someday, huh?

Hezbollah has now become the de facto Lebanese army. Why would they disarm when the enemy is knocking at the door ? (After all, they are not French !)
As Israel has never complied with any UN resolution, as the USA completely discard international laws, why should Lebanon and Hezbollah play by the rules ?

Agreed AJ. The UN is worthless and the US will not accept ANY international restraints. Fact is the world that exists today would not exist were it not for the US. Your worthless butt would be living under Hitler fascism or USSR communism were it not for the US. This can not be disputed by anyone with at least one foot in reality. And you are welcome, ingrate..........

As far as Israel is concerned, they Fkd up big time. They should have gone in with everything they had. Instead they gave away their plans by dropping leaflets to warn of impending air strikes. Only a liberal would run a war that way. Olmert is now toast. Israel will now demand a leader with some balls.

On 16 June, the Secretary-General reported to the Security Council that Israel had withdrawn its forces from Lebanon in accordance with resolution 425 (1978) and met the requirements defined in his report of 22 May 2000 -- namely, Israel had completed the withdrawal in conformity with the line identified by the United Nations, DFF/SLA had been dismantled, and all detainees held at Al-Khiam prison had been freed.

"Why would they disarm"? Hopefully the Lebanese people are intelligent enough to realize that the only thing Hezbollah's militia did for Lebanon was bring devastation all across their country and occupation by that enemy that had been content to stay on their own side of the border for the last 6 years. All, so Hezbollah could dance around the rubble proclaiming they won. Other than the rubble and IDF occupying the suoth of their country, Im not sure what it is they won. MARK

Ever notice how there hasnt really ever been any Palestinians carrying out terrorist attacks against the US? Would seem to fly in the face of your theory. The 9/11 terrorists were Saudi and Egyptian. Egyptians get 5% added to their GDP in the form of aid from the US. Saudis get billions in exchange for their oil.
Ever notice how many times Al Qaeda brings up Andalus? Israel is just one of many territories the terrorists want for their own.

"I have been sent with the sword between my hands to ensure that no one but Allah is worshipped, Allah who put my livelihood under the shadow of my spear and who inflicts humiliation and scorn on those who disobey my orders." (Bin Laden )
"to ensure that no one but Allah is worshipped"!!! Too high of a price to pay for peace. MARK

Great point. Then the kidnapping of the Israeli soldiers was an act of war from Lebanon. In that case, Israel was completely justified invading Lebanon.

Either Hezbollah is a foreign military power in the south of Lebanon, or they are a de facto Lebanese army. In the first case, then Israel never invaded Lebanon; they invaded Hezbollah-controlled territory. In the second, Lebanon made war against Israel.

Pick your poison, but you lose.

The only problem in this reasoning is that Israel planned this invasion long ago, before the kidnappings (as the US planned the Irak campaign before 2001). Also the kidnapping of 4 soldiers can't be a reason to wage a war. I mean, in the US, when people are taken hostages you don't nuke the whole building but you send negotiators first like in any civilized country. This invasion had nothing to do the kidnapping of some cannon fodder.
It's just part of a bigger plan :
Bush is considering air strikes on Iran and in case he gets the green light, he wants to make sure that Hezbollah won't be a thorn in his #ss.
OR
Israel want the US to strike Iran and in order to convince them to do so, they are trying to weaken/annihilate Hezbollah.

Whatever the reason behind the invasion, one thing seems sure : Hezbollah is one of the main reasons why Iran haven't been bombed yet.

As usual, you are grasping for straws. What effect could Hezbollah have on US airplanes?
Everything seems to be a nutty conspiracy theory to you guys.

The barrage of rockets fired at northern Israeli cities likely had something to do with their decision to invade.

Bush is in the shitter, with no credibility left anywhere. Actually, there is little chance that our resident conservatives still support him, except to wind up liberals.

Bush = Toast
