Bush ordered Brown to lie in order to make the democratic mayor and the democratic governor look better? That doesn't sound like the party politics I know. Brown has taken quite a bit of heat, I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled this out of his #####.

Yes, I understand that that is what Brown is saying. I'm questioning his integrity.

but did you question it right after the events of katrina or did you defend him? if yes, because you thought he had integrity.. then the same thing could be true for Bush as well, could it not?

I didn't defend the government response to Katrina, I thought it illustrated quite well the inability of government to react in a suitable way to crises.
