Out of curiosity, Alqaeda killing more hostages, is it making Bush look stronger with his stance against terrorism or weaker for not being able to decrease terrorist activity? I just wanted to know which way most people leaned on this side
This media hyping the public executions of american hostages is a recent tactic that shows how it is getting tougher for the terrorists to make hits on big splashy targets. The Johnson beheading puts some serious pressure on the Saudi's to get with it and root out the heart of the terrorist's who are opperating in Saudi Arabia. I the coming months it will be very important for them to do the necesary house cleaning without the US getting too involved.
Chasm what bothers me really is your question of how it makes Bush look. Is'nt the more important question is how these excecutions are changing the dynamics on our fight with terrorism?
When it comes to dealing with this huge problem Bush has always looked good because he shows the focus, conviction, and determination to get job done we need. He has not changed in the process even while the media attacks and tries to make political hash out every little negative aspect of the war.
What this hideous Johnson execution does is shine the spotlight on the Saudi's. Bush is going to stay calm while the Saudi's sort this out.
