Iran isn't perfect, but it's not some hellish desert burka land like pakistan or the Sudan. It's by and large a nice place, or so I'm told.

Cool video...

But, we also have to remember that in Iran there are plenty of poor, frustrated people who have talent and skills for which there is no market. What's unemployment there? 15%? Maybe more? Inflation rises, and food becomes more expensive. The poor of Iran suffer. A good reason for this is that the Iranian leadership (at least on the national level) is more concerned with funding the Revolutionary Guard, and focusing on military and foreign policy concerns. I think that it is a real shame. Many in the Iranian government are just as hard-headed and dangerous as our President and his circle.

But it deserves to said - the Iranian people are a good people, and their country is beautiful. There are many other pictures and articles kicking around the net.

It scares me that we will make war with them... Iran could and should be our ally. I hope we each find ways to make it so.

Yeah, I feel the same...

Too bad the Iranian president is a little squinty-eyed, racist, war-mongerer, with his itchy little greasy fingers on the trigger of his "nuclear arsenal", just waiting to wipe not only Israel off the face of the map, but "the west" as well.

Yeah.. too bad...

Its difference can be attributed to more rainfall and massive oil resources. Has little bearing on the nature of the people. MARK

BRUSSELS -- The Iranian education system is preparing its students for a global war against the West in the name of Islam, according to an independent study of 115 textbooks and teachers guides released today.
With Tehran accused of seeking to develop a nuclear weapons arsenal and the United States dispatching a second aircraft carrier to the Gulf, the report by the Center for Monitoring the Impact of Peace highlights the uphill task Washington faces trying to persuade Iranian youth to distance themselves from the hard-line Islamist regime.
The study, which claims to be the first of its kind, catalogs how pupils as young as 9 are conditioned to take part in a global jihad against such "infidel oppressors" as Israel and the United States.
"Hate indoctrination is a professed goal of Iranian textbooks," said the report's author, Arnon Groiss, a Princeton- and Harvard-educated journalist who also has written critical studies of the Israeli, Palestinian, Syrian, Saudi and Egyptian education systems.
According to Mr. Groiss, Iranian pupils learn from an early age that the Islamic republic is in mortal combat with Western powers bent on its destruction.
One 11th-grade textbook, quoting former spiritual leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, refers to the United States and its allies as "the World Devourers" and says that if they "wish to stand against our religion, we will stand against their whole world and will not cease until the annihilation of all of them."

We will not be killing Iranian civilians. There will be a joint US-Israel campaign shortly to take out Irans' nuke facilities and most of their military infastructure. Bank on it.

And they've been asking for it, for a long time...

A prize-winning Iranian nuclear scientist has died in mysterious circumstances, according to Radio Farda, which is funded by the U.S. State Department and broadcasts to Iran.

An intelligence source suggested that Ardeshire Hassanpour, 44, a nuclear physicist, had been assassinated by Mossad, the Israeli security service.
