Sarkozy an Ex-Mossad Agent!?
TEHRAN, Oct. 17--A prestigious French daily reported that an email sent to 100 high-ranking police officials claims French President Nicholas Sarkozy is a former agent of the Israeli intelligence services, Mossad.
Le Figaro added that the letter was sent to French police officials late last winter and reiterated that Sarkozy was the fourth high-ranking spy of Israel.
The letter titled “Infiltration of Mossad in France’s ruling center-right UMP party“ insists that Sarkozy is a spy.
It also writes about widespread corruption in the UMP party.
The letter added that former Israeli prime minister, Menachem Begin, in 1978 ordered the head of his intelligence services to make former French Leader Charles De Gulle’s one of Israel’s associates.

Against the prosecution’s criteria, the Catalonian Court of Apeal [Audiencia Provincial, three judges] posed the question of unconstitutionality, when considering that the referenced article limits a fundamental right, the right to freedom of expression, since it punishes the diffusion of ideas "without demanding any other element, such as affronts, or inciting to attack groups."
We are, undoubtedly, before a correct decision of the Constitutional Court that reinforces our system of guarantees. Because, no matter how odious the ideas that justify genocide may appear to us, a free society cannot deny their right of freedom of expression, unless it includes inciting to violence. The opposite would be to reinstate the crime of opinion.

Algerian minister says "Jewish lobby" elected Sarkozy
Paris (dpa) - Less than a week before the visit of French President Nicolas Sarkozy to Algeria, an Algerian minister said that Sarkozy owed his electoral victory to Israel and "the Jewish lobby," the French daily Le Figaro reported Wednesday.
The comments by Minister for War Veterans Mohammed Cherif Abbes were made in an interview published earlier this week in the popular Algerian daily El Khabar.
"You know the origins of the French president and those who brought him to power," Cherif Abbes said, referring to the fact that Sarkozy's mother is of Greek Sephardic Jewish descent.
"Did you know that Israeli authorities circulated a stamp bearing Sarkozy's likeness during the presidential election campaign?" he asked rhetorically.
"Why did (Foreign Minister) Bernard Kouchner, a leftist, decide to change course (and enter the government)? ... It is the result of the movement that reflects the thinking of the real architects of Sarkozy's arrival in power, the Jewish lobby which has a monopoly on French industry."
According to Le Figaro, the comments provoked little reaction in Algeria.

On Jan. 7, Gandhi, a Brighton resident and founder and president of the M.K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence based at the University of Rochester since June, wrote on the Web site that Jews "overplay" the Holocaust for sympathy, and "Israel and the Jews are the biggest players" in a global culture of violence.
Gandhi is on a panel of experts who discuss a different topic each week on the Post's On Faith page, which is moderated by Sally Quinn and Jon Meacham. They posted an apology for the episode at 9:03 a.m. Friday.
"When we undertook this project over a year ago, we wrote that our goal was to shed light on a subject - religion - that too often generates heat. The Gandhi post failed to comply with that mission, and we can only ask our readers to extend 'On Faith' a measure of forbearance and tolerance as the site endeavors to conduct a civil and illuminating conversation. We regret the initial posting, and we apologize for the episode," they wrote.
Gandhi, who is in India, subsequently posted an apology that was considered inadequate by, among others, UR President Joel Seligman and Larry Fine, executive director of the Jewish Federation of Rochester.
Gandhi has offered to resign from the Institute and the board will discuss whether to accept the offer at a Thursday meeting.
