Hey! Have you guys noted the last word on the WOT? Seems like the naysayers are grudgingly admitting that at least one of the prisoners at Gitmo, after his confession, is a terrorist. He's admitted to planning 28 terrorist attacks, including 9/11.

Seems like the terrorists were mad at us LOOONNGGG before Bush arrived on the scene as there were planned assasination plots against both Clinton AND Carter.

For what purpose? No amount of evidence would convince you that Islamic fundamentalist have been carrying out terrorist attacks against the United States. MARK

Completely untrue, I know for a fact religious fundamentalists have carried out attacks in the United states.

I’m not sure a fair trail would be possible in the US but perhaps a third country could hold a trail, similar to the deal stuck between the UK and Libya for the TWA bombing? That seem like a fair trial.

So Fair trail or a black hole mark?

YES

did you think before responding. I was making a broad point.

Why are you both avoiding the issue. Why should'nt they get FAIR and FREE TRAIL?

If found guilty I would be personally willing to put a loose around his neck

Hey, guy, I'm new with you. No need to get sarcastic because I asked one question.

I take one point at a time and the one to which I was responding was the remark that you made about his being kept a prisoner so long that anyone would make a confession which point he addressed in his statement contained in the article. I usually don't make a habit of replying unless I know that someone has read an article I've posted. Makes for a lot less confusion, you know?

Didn't know you wanted to just make the point about a fair trial as being your ONLY point. I'm not a good mind reader.. blink.gif

Getting a little off subject aren't you? That someone has confessed to being the ringleader/planner of attacks going back to Carter's time..........long before Bush, the one much blamed by the Left as making this war (which we've been in for 25+ years and just didn't realize it)?

Have no fear fearful, the "we" in your head, could never be like them.

Yet you should pray the "real we" who are NOT in your head or are able to protect your head? I know the complexity is overwhelming and confusing isn't it?

Great idea!

Ahem! More reason to believe that Mohammad is what he said he is..... Experts: Mohammed Arrest Slowed al-Qaida

Apparently, he wasn't there for 4 years of torture before he began talking: "He's a boastful character. I think after four years of silence, he'd probably like to be up there with the likes of bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahri as a major figure and ideologue, and impress people with everything he's done," said Ahmed Rashid, a Pakistan-based author on Islamic militancy.

He "sang" to interrogators almost from the start, after his March 2003 arrest at a house outside the Pakistani capital. Much of the information in the 26 pages of released testimony has been long known........

A rhetorical question, Right?

No chauvinism or anti-feminism, intended!!!

Why of course NOT, the evil US or the Israelis did it all, according you and

If such Stalwarts of Americanism like Rosie, YOU and the Communalist News Networks say the confession must have been coerced, thus, ALL false, implying all he confessed to, obviously he DID NOT DO, and or, either did not even happen and if it did happen, the evil Israeli's or the United Stated did it.

Thus, they had to have caused him to confess to that which he did not do and or did not happen! Right, Coddle Pinkly?

TIME

Huh? I assume this more rhetorical questions, Right?

These articles' authors can be as much believed as TIME's report can, which interestingly implies that Bush's administration is using this story to serve their interest in much the same manner as his critics are using the media by bringing up old news as new news about Newt's having an affair, which he admitted and was reported years ago. cool.gif

Here is yet another article (which I spotted at Ai-Jane) that casts doubt that this guy was brainwashed into confessing.

Exerpt: ......It was the first public glimpse of the man who has claimed responsibility not only for the deadliest terrorist attacks in U.S. history but for several dozen other plots as well.

But was Mohammed revealing the truth about himself and his deeds, or just playing to the jury?

By framing his life as an underdog militant in terms Americans might understand, and by expressing occasional regret and remorse, Mohammed could have been seizing the opportunity to make his best and most palatable case to the public about why he and al Qaeda have waged war against the United States, U.S. officials and experts reviewing his words suggested.

"It is designed to have an American audience understand that there is another way of looking at the conflict between the West and radical Islam under (Osama) bin Laden's leadership, and that is quite striking," said Dr. Jerrold Post, former chief personality profiler for the CIA.

Post, author of the forthcoming book "The Mind of the Terrorist," described the "performance" by al Qaeda's former chief of operations as part psychological warfare and part artfully crafted courtroom argument.

"This does not reflect someone who was brainwashed," either by radical Islamic fundamentalists or U.S. interrogators since his capture in Pakistan in March 2003, Post said. "I take it as confirmation of the significance of his position, that, despite his thuggish appearance, this is a very shrewd and rather precise individual whose attention to detail and careful planning went into his being promoted to such a high position within al Qaeda....

"Although Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s confession “may have effectively signed his own death warrant,” his statements might actually help other suspects. “Mohammed took credit for so many different terrorist plots that others could use his testimony in their own defense strategy.”

KSM's false confession hinders our ability to actually prosecute those involved in terror acts.

So, you've already decided his confession is false. Why? What evidence? Other than to quote liberal news sites? (This could turn out to be a case of dueling news site quotes.)

Could you just as plausibly think it tis true? If not, why not?

Hint: ggnoring anyone doesn't help, silly boy. laugh.gif

Hi Solo
Ken Bean, here.

You probably do want to remember that some posters want everybody to have a fair trial.....except our own leadership.

They are so very ready to pass sentence upon our own troops and political leadership and to trash them with every breath...in every medium....with no fair trial.

I personally believe the jihadists have both declared war, and waged war upon us for a long long time.

Some folks seem to think there is some sort of moral equivalency, or that in fact we are the "bad guys" in this war.

You and I can't budge them.
Ken
SoloNav
Hidy, Ken . Glad to see you here. Come 'on over............. We can use the reinforcement.

Yes, I know what you say is true, but I hope that some might be swayed . For those that won't, I just like to grind it in. wink.gif
