Mexican invasion is reasonable fear

September 14, 2007 3:00 AM Guest Columnist Lance Key

Xenophobia is defined as an unreasonable fear or hatred of foreigners or strangers. In a recent Times-News article, Ebher Rossi tossed that word around to describe en masse, Republicans, and anyone agreeing that felons should be arrested and deported.

How is it that he can so cavalierly dismiss the fear people are expressing as not only valid, but warranted?

Elvira Arellano illegally entered our country in 1997. After being apprehended and deported, she returned and gave birth to an “anchor baby” with an unnamed father. After being arrested and convicted of using a false social security number to obtain employment in a post 9-11 sweep, she was sentenced to three years probation. Instead, she took refuge in a church to avoid deportation. She was recently arrested and deported a second time demonstrating against U.S. immigration policy in Los Angeles. Upon her return to Mexico she petitioned President Calderon to give her diplomatic status as an “ambassador of peace and justice” so she can return and not be prosecuted.

Rep. Ron Paul of Texas is currently fighting against the proposed NAFTA superhighway, denouncing it as a merger plot for a North American Union. In his words, the highway is part of a broader plan advanced by a quasi-government organization called the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America. The SPP was launched in 2005 by heads of state in Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. One of the principal players in the alliance is a Spanish construction company which plans to build the highway and operate it as a toll road. There are plans for a Mexican customs office along the corridor in Kansas City, to be paid for by U.S. taxpayers.

The U.S.-Mexico Social Security Treaty being penned currently would mean we will be paying out billions of dollars to illegal immigrants. If not stopped, this treaty will reward illegal immigrants even if they used fake Social Security numbers. In 10 years an already near defunct system will pay out over $300 billion, and that doesn’t take into account current workers and their families.

Radical Chicano activists compare themselves to Palestinians in America and hope for a “reconquista” to unite southwestern states with northern Mexico into the Republica Del Norte. They refer to themselves as “La Raza” or “The Race”, and believe the southwest to be “Aztlan” a mythical birthplace of the Aztecs. These groups supported by organizations like “La Voz de Aztlan”, and “La Raza,” proudly affirm that “the Mexican nation extends beyond the territory enclosed by its borders.” They represent a substantial majority of Mexican citizens who, according to a 2002 Zogby poll, believe southwestern America is rightfully Mexican territory, and they need no permission to come and go as they wish.

The Mexican government supports illegal immigration with the Office for Mexicans Abroad, through guides on how to cross the border and how to survive when they arrive. Groups like the elite law enforcement team “Grupo Beta” protect illegals as they cross and maintain aid stations for them. State laws enacted in Arizona and California to stem the flow of human traffic have elicited threats from Mexican politicians and sitting presidents, as well as incited protest movements by those who do not enjoy citizens’ rights.

Mexico is authorizing an invasion of our country, offering a threat to our national security as well as our economy. They are using us as a calculated economic safety valve while importing poverty and weakening our society. Immigrants from Mexico are not integrating into the great melting pot, but building a distinct, politically active community where legal and illegal are working together to claim what they believe as theirs.

We need to stop the flow across the border, actively work to arrest and deport illegal aliens, crack down on employers, amend the 14th Amendment and cut off all social aid to anyone without legal documentation. The consequences of remaining idle will result in nothing less than the loss of our sovereignty as a nation, the toppling of our economy, and a cataclysmic failure of our society, and that is a very reasonable fear.

Too many false-truths, straw men, red herrings and non sequiturs there to bother picking them apart.

You can cop out all you like, but you are still basically a worhtless baby boomer who has nothing valuable to say accept "that is wrong so I won't comment on it." LOL
Fit2BThaied
Wrong. I am not a baby boomer. Your other assumptions about me have often been wrong, too.

I offer more cogent, intelligent advice than you do. I have commented at great length, using good vocabulary and evidence based on personal experience, than you have with your pasted URL's. I started working with Mexican-Americans in 1961, in Texas; two of my children married them. Lived in Mexico, travelled extensively through Latin America. Speak Spanish.

I've made detailed comments on Interstate 35, having been on most of its stretches, starting at Laredo and ending at Duluth. Lived within 5 miles of I 35 in 4 different cities, many years.

FWIW, I'm a fan of Ron Paul, an opponent of the NAU at this time, and I've opposed this superhighway in this forum, from time to time and for good reason. But I've also tried to help you by pointing out the lies and half truths in some of the URL's that you post. You're welcome for thanking me. smile.gif

I am fairly sure you were born between 1946 and 1964

This is the part that always gets me into trouble on forums

But I'm not really PC and many people know I'm not but I'll try to
handle this with kid gloves

The massive illegal invasion is coming mainly from mexico

the biggest interference in our sovereignty and immigration policies is
coming from mexico

We have millions and millions of foreign nationals from mexico in this country right now who have no desire or intention of becoming American and are still fiercely loyal to mexico , they are also having millions of children who the law states are US citizens but are being taught by their parents that they are mexicans first

In the past mexican leaders have publicly stated they will "reconquista" the American southwest by illegal immigration and birth rates

So far they are doing just that

And we let them

They scream racism and xenophobia and our anti illegal leaders are cowering before these ethno centeric groups and others like the aclu and the splc , They fear to be seen in a light not accpetable to American
The trouble is America is calling for a much harsher solution , it can be seen in many comment sections on a daily basis

Ask yourself this
When France was being invaded during WW2 , Were the French racist and xenophobic for not welcoming the German invaders?

Same thing thats happening to us , only with out guns and bombs

But an invasion none the less..

So you're a fan of luring them in with under-the-table wages, and then shooting them in the face when they demand to be recognized as humans.

Your link is to a letter to the editor of one unknown person named Kance Keys, who bases his "argument" on one homely example that may or may not be typical.

Guess you could also say a bank or c-store robber could make the same case.... The bank and c-store had money and the robber didn't so he commited an illegal act to get the money.

It is more than typical. Don't know where you live but here in Az. it is fact that most wetbacks think the SW belongs to Mexico.

Perhaps it may be fairly easy to deduce within a small margin of error actually all this.

FITS, has left many clues unknowingly I think. First he said he retired from the IRS and gets Social Security. My guess is he retired in either 2004 or early 2005 and went to the land boys boo co fast, soon thereafter.

He retired from the IRS, thus had to have been under FERS, my guess is, at age 62 with likely 10 to 20 years of service. The MRA for FERS is 55 but that would make him a boomer, which he claims he is not.

My guess is he was born between 1941 and 1943, thus the claim of not being a boomer, likely, as I think he claimed military service, my guess, is pre-Vietnam, in between, 1962 and 1965. He likely had his grandson’s son, in say, 1963 to 1965, who in turn had a son in perhaps 1983 or 1984.

Likely in the IRS, he retired as a GS 11 to GS 13 gets his basic benefit / years formula package, Thrift plan and has said, he gets Social Security. Though before his outing, his former wife may have some claim to some of his income, depending on several variables, timing, and related circumstances.

How did I do FITS? Though I agree it is no ones business. unsure.gif

That is all!!

trader, you did far better than the others! Congratulations. biggrin.gif Like you, I don't completely hide behind anonymity, as I've been falsely accused on Bearpit and AI Jane. Actually, I was under both CSRS and FERS. Made it to GS 12 as a manager. My former wife has no claim to my income. And yes, it's no one's business. And, it's not right or righteous to make ad hominem attacks, even though almost all of us have done it.

I doubt there's any proof to your claim that the Mexican nationals who immigrate illegally "have no desire" to become American. I'm sure you're wrong, but I can't prove it. However, there should be a statistic of how many such immigrants took amnesty programs when they became available. They are not fiercely loyal to Mexico; that's why they abandoned their family and nation to come to the USA. However, like our own ancestors, they are probably proud of their native citizenship.

They do have more children than the liberal and conservative naturally born citizens, but the "White" folks aren't reproducing themselves in the first place. After a generation or two of being Whitened, Hispanics probably are not much more fertile than the Whites are.

Reconquista is a joke, and responsible Hispanic leaders don't use that term in the sense of a bloody, violent, racist conquest like the conquista that our ancestors executed on the Amerindians.

Folks need to talk to their gardners, maids, and room cleaners (in Spanish, of course!). Be careful, though. The Hispanic watering the lawn across the street may be a US citizen who makes twice your salary! smile.gif
