Full Version: Puerto Rico's Political Status (again)

The following information is to alert all hard working American Taxpayers on how Congress uses their hard earned money to maintain a colonial system in the island of Puerto Rico. While many banks in the U.S. are foreclosing many homes because many Americans can't pay their mortages, Congress sends 22 BILLION dollars every year to help maintain a colonial system in Puerto Rico, because the colonialists here pay off many Congressmen (not all) for them to help maintain a colonial system here. Please access my Web Page (www.usacolony.com) and find out for yourself why in 2008, 110 years later, Puerto Rico is still a colony. The Bush administration is offering a solution to the problem by celebrating a plebiscite in which it includes the actual colonial system. This is like offering the African-American population an option to become slaves again. This is an unfair choice, because the United States invaded Puerto Rico in 1898, not Puerto Rico the United states, therefore it is the responsibility of the United States to put an end to the colony. You may ask yourself why we have voted for the colony all these years and I tell you, if you access my Web Page you will find out why this is so and I am sure that you will feel very annoyed with your Congressmen. I favor Statehood for Puerto Rico, because I am proud to be an American Citizen and Statehooders believe in paying Federal Taxes just like you do. In the actual colonial system we do not pay Federal Taxes, because Congress does it for us, but with your money. I feel very sad about this situation, but the American Taxpayer is the only one that can change this by contacting your Congressmen. Hillary and Obama want change for you. Let's see if they really do in this case. I am asking Hillary and Obama through this post not to make any deals with the colonialists in Puerto Rico, who are squandering your hard earned money while many Mainland Americans are losing their homes to the banks by foreclosure. This is a disgrace. America, wake up!

God Bless America!

Critique no América Richard. Critique Puerto Rico indeciso, mi amigo.

¡Dios bendice América!

Thank you for reading my post. Please read my Web Page www.usacolony.com so that you can make a decision in reference to my post and let me know, because my post tells it like it is. I am for Statehood because I am proud of my American Citizenship and I believe in paying Federal Taxes for the good of the State and the U.S.A..

SPANISH

Me da bochorno esa situacion.

ENGLISH

Ela (The Commonwealth Of Puerto Rico - The Colony) as is, is a colony and the colonial leaders live the best life in the world and that is why they don't want this to change, as we don't pay federal taxes. Puerto Rico receives 22 BILLION dollars and the colonialists use them to pay off many Congressmen to stay in power. The coloney is a money making machine for some U.S. politicians, that is why they don't want Puerto Rico to change its status. That is what bothers me most, meanwhile in the U.S. these same taxpayers are losing their homes to the banks by foreclosure because they can't pay their mortgages and here the local government wastes these taxpayers money. That is sad. I feel shame for this situation.

Thanks again!

With all due respect and merely in my humble Opinion;

I guess you were not old enough to have voted in the numerous elections in Puerto Rico that rejected Independence and or Statehood for the self governing non tax paying well entitlement recieving Commonwealth system that has been in place in its current form since the 1940's.

When Puerto Rico decides without ambuguity for separte non-association without benefits, Independence, I am confident few in the United States would object.

The Phillipines was in the same situation but finally, THEY DECIDED, they wanted to seperate without any co-dependence to or with the US, and that is exactly what they got.

The difference, is Puerto Rico has yet to be as deceisve in its ambitions for Independence.

As suggested, look inside, not to the outside to solve a problem you think exists jus pos the Indpendence of Puerto Rico. The answer to this issue of independence lies at the feet of Puerto Ricoans, vastly far more in its being affected, than on the complacant, uninvolved and really uncaring, or concerned majority of Americans, who would more than likely welcome the burden of a Non-Tax paying, but exceedling well entitled Commonwealth, goings its own way.

By no means being disrepectful, I ponder given, as I understand it, that there may be more Puerto Rican's in the States than in Puerto Rico, would Independence entail their required repatriation or a choice for those in both places, who are citizens of the United States, to choice either Puerto Rican Citizenship or US citizenship but NOT both?
