If you're looking for people who really hate their government, look no further than the United States. The primary reason for this dislike/hate is how the American regime tends to meddle, interfere and pry into the affairs of other countries. So why do keep electing these same assholes? Are you hypocrites or just don't give a krap?

The U.S was once a cherished and liked country, now it's everyone's foe.
MrLeft
It's because the republicans have been in power for the last 8 years. They always phuck us over. Politics has always been and always will be about power & money - those with money have the power. Three of the last 4 recessions occurred when the republicans had control and we're now entering into the 4th one caused by those jackasses.
Our whole system is in dire need of an overhaul. It's pretty sad when you have Prick MaCain as the main guy from the Republican, instead of the 'best man for the job' like Obama that should be the next president. Rebulicans like Bush, Cheney and MaCain don't really give a sh!t about us regular people.

Last four “Official Recessions”

plus the Nut Root over hyperbolic hype of recession in this first quarter of 2008.

WHO TAKES THE CREDIT AND THE BLAME? Presidents ALONE or BOTH Presidents and Congress together!

11973 – 1975- (1973 Oil crisis) A deliberate economic attack by Arab OPEC which resulted in quadrupling of oil prices that combined in willful timing of perceived weakness with high government spending due to the Vietnam War lead to stagflation in the United States.
(EXTERNAL “tipping point factors in willful efforts of economic war + INTERNAL factors, spending and deficits for the Vietnam war equally impacting)

US Government Control:

President – Republican Richard M. Nixon began Presidency January 20, 1969 to August 9, 1974.

Senate : Democrats 61 (MAJORITY) House: Democrats 291( MAJORITY)

21980 – 1982- ( A two pronged source in causation. One, in 1980, market force responses to the Iranian Hostage crisis act of war and the US’s and world’s first overt act of appeasement, that emboldening policy that factored into the many acts of radical Islam’s acts of war and violence that has grown exponential since, including rooted in a direct attack on the US. This was to be one of many root causes for direct attacks on the US by the emboldened forces of radical Islam. Two, a recession based on monetary policy caused by a monetary policy adjustment to the 1973 Arab’s OIL embargo, and its preceding OIL crisis recession that started in 1973.

President(s) – Democratic Jimmy Carter, January 20, 1977 to Jan 20, 1981

Senate : Republicans 53 (MAJORITY) House: Democrats 244( MAJORITY)

31990- 1991-
Industrial production and manufacturing-trade sales decreased in early 1991.

President; Republican George H. Bush, began Presidency January 20, 1989 to January 20, 1993.

101st Congress: January 3, 1989 – January 3, 1991
Senate : Democrats 55 (MAJORITY) House: Democrats 261( MAJORITY)

102nd Congress: January 3, 1991 – January 3, 1993
Senate : Democrats 57 (MAJORITY) House: Democrats 270( MAJORITY)

42001 -2003-

A two pronged direct economic portion initially starting in March 2000, (Clintons presidency) that resulted in what has been called “the 1990’s false economy” AKA the dot.com economy, a speculative economic bubble covering roughly 1995thru mid-year 2001. What followed was the collapse of the dot-com bubble.

Then came a separate factor of world economic fear resulting from the decades long ignored and often emboldened Islamic radical attacks on the USA on September 11, 2001. Followed in late 2002 by what was a series of confidence draining corporate accounting scandals based on LONG term Congressional Loopholes that went back many dozen years which all in total contributed to in economic terms a RELATIVELY MILD CONTRACTION in the North American and some aspects of the world economy mainly in 2001.

1995 to January 2001-
President; Democrat Bill Clinton, began Presidency January 20, 1993 to January 20, 2001

102nd Congress: January 3, 1991 – January 3, 1993
Senate : Democrats 57 (MAJORITY) House: Democrats 270( MAJORITY)

103rd Congress: January 3, 1993 – January 3, 1995
Senate : Democrats 56 (MAJORITY) House: Democrats 258( MAJORITY)

104th Congress: January 3, 1995 – January 3, 1997
Senate : Republicans 53 (MAJORITY) House: Republicans 230 (MAJORITY)

President; Republican G.W. Bush, began Presidency January 20, 2001 to January 20, 2009.

107th Congress: January 3, 2001 – January 3, 2003
Senate : Rep/Dem 50 (NO MAJORITY) House: Republicans 221 (MAJORITY)

108th Congress: January 3, 2003 – January 3, 2005
Senate : Republicans 51 (MAJORITY) House: Republicans 227 (MAJORITY)

Now as to the current highly hyped, again Externally factored OIL induced speculative recession, which has only manifested itself in measurements, in this very first Quarter of 2008. Where the numbers and facts of Energy induced economic turmoil has expressed itself clearly as a down turn that perhaps may go to the negative in economics measurements in the next few quarters of 2008. Call it at best, with all the objective factual data currently available, a RELATIVELY MILD CONTRACTION at best, not worst than that experienced in 2001 to 2003.

Yet, two near solely important dimensions of American Governance and effects on our economy goes largely ignored. First, Congress and importantly WHO controls it IS NOT a silent partner in either getting credit and or blame any more than is a president of either party in what happens economic volatility happens to our economy.

Note how enormously frequent the Democrats have controlled both houses of Congress over this time our misinformed leftist choice to highlight.

Also in terms of our economy, what is grossly ignored and missed in all this political rhetoric of deflection, is HOW OIL has been the majority or near exclusive factor and or core reason involved in most to all of the economic down turns our leftist speculated about so inaccurately.

Which bringsus to the raging rants of the left that "Iraq was ALL about OIL." If so where exactly is all this OIL Bush and mob went after? Surely if he did, we in the US should have more than share or plenty for our glutinous American market before anyone else if that were our motive as so many wrangle and whined in the days when the silence about Iraq was not so deafening?

THAT IS ALL!!

Bush only ruined things for emotional idealists that don't have a clue about world realities. I have done very well during the Bush years. But then again I am not a whiny little pissant like you that no doubt sponges off the hard work of others...........................
Fit2BThaied
I agree with the OP. Bush and his team of Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, et al., have done immeasurable harm to the international reputation of the USA in four to eight years. They have given amnesia to Europe, who forgets how we helped them in the 20th century. If you read comments of reasonable people who are in touch with people outside the USA, you would know this. But you might not care at all.

Since I have lived outside the US for the better part of the last 30+ years, perhaps I am qualified as being a citizen who is in touch with "people outside the USA".

I also deal with US Embassies and Consulates in several countries and am always amazed at the long lines of local citizens standing around at these aforementioned US Embassies trying to get visas to enter the US. These multitudes of applicants don't seem to hate the US.

While Fitz and Leftie may feel the US is so despised, unless they have been overseas they really don't know what is going on.

They have been reading too much moveon.org.
