Who the HELL is he to tell us what is, and is not "Obscene profit"? It's none of his Damned business. Same thing with the Jackasses: it's none of their Damned business, as long as the oil companies are not colluding, breaking any laws, or cheating their shareholders.

And who is he to require that they invest in alternative forms of energy? If it is not economically viable, I wouldn't either.

But his last sentence clearly shows that he is at the Very Least an Economic Moron. He talks about the oil companies "abrogating their responsibility" to the citizens. No business's first priority is to be responsible as citizens. Their responsibility is to make a profit, pure and simple. The oil company's responsibility is to it's shareholders. It is natural that to make a continual profit, they produce a good product that the customers will want to purchase. But the company's first responsibility is to the owners, not to what some idiot politician wants them to do.

And he hasn't the slightest idea as to how a business is supposed to run because he has NEVER had to run a business before, that's why. He has been wedded to the government All of his adult life, where he has been able to live off the hard work and taxes of other citizens in business.
