I knew there was something I just didn't like about Obama..... His messianic poses, he takes himself (and his wife) just too seriously, he acts as if he likes to hear his own voice when he speaks, etc. I can barely bring myself to watch him talk, or to hear his voice. He is so full of himself.

This article hits it right on the nose.

(Newser) – When Barack Obama appeared on the scene, the nation asked, “Who is he?” Now the Washington Post's Charles Krauthammer wants to know, “Who does he think he is?” Obama—who wants to speak at the hallowed ground of Germany's Brandenburg Gate—seems to have an awfully high opinion of himself for someone who’s accomplished…what, exactly? He has not one significant legislative achievement, and his most memorable private sector work was a book on his favorite topic: himself.

Americans are beginning to notice Obama's elevated opinion of himself. There's nothing new about narcissism in politics. Every senator looks in the mirror and sees a president. Nonetheless, has there ever been a presidential nominee with a wider gap between his estimation of himself and the sum total of his lifetime achievements?

Obama is a three-year senator without a single important legislative achievement to his name, a former Illinois state senator who voted "present" nearly 130 times. As president of the Harvard Law Review, as law professor and as legislator, has he ever produced a single notable piece of scholarship? Written a single memorable article? His most memorable work is a biography of his favorite subject: himself.

Obama’s entire campaign is wrapped around this preposterous messianic message. In his primary victory speech, Obama proclaimed that “generations from now we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment” when, among other wonders, “our planet began to heal.” Jesus, as Krauthammer recalls, contented himself with healing the sick. “Obama operates on a larger canvas.”

Our planet has began to heal? Because Obama is running for President???? Ohmygaw! What vanity!

So what has Bush ever done? popcorn.gif

Except bring us to war that we never should have had. And sent this country to a financial recession that will never recover.

Thanks a lot Bush! mad.gif

I found his speeches to be merely rhetoric, well-belched gas. He is too inexperienced, but not as inexperienced or as unqualified as G W Bush was in 2000.. But American voters care nothing about qualifications, especially for Republicans. Hilary, for all her faults, is better qualified, and already lost. McCain missed the mark of his father and grandfather, who were both four-star admirals.

SoloNav, I agree about Obama. I would still vote for him over McCain, however.

Yes, we all agree. Obama ain't all that, but he still has almost no chance of losing.

You have to be insane to repeat the mistakes of the last 8 years. Obama is right on the money, change change change!

You understand he is demanding "change" because he is black? He just wants more money. unsure.gif
