I thought you were not going on about global warming laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif So, are you going to admit I am right? All you silly liberals are upset because you fell for the biggest scam in history.

My posts on that thread are 2 years old and are not accurately representative of my current opinions. Secondly, that thread isn't relevant to this thread. Thirdly, you still miserably fail to defend your views on oil in this thread against me.

Again incorrect. What I am really complaining about is how the State complicates things with excessive legislation, and predatory rules, to the extent that the markets cannot respond properly. Had the markets been allowed to pursue new exploation over 20 years ago, this entire oil meltdown would never have happened.

When i said the American government should root out the corruption in the oil industries, you said "in other words fascism". So do you propose that the corruption in the oil companies should be left fester as it is, that it is a problem nor is morally wrong etc?
Also, there is no point in talking about what could or should have been done in the past. The fact of the matter is that the issues faced by our governments today are more complicated. Investing more in alternative fuels like hydrogen powered fuel cells and stuff like nuclear power would reduce America's strong dependency on oil massively- what do you see as wrong with this? Drilling more oil isn't the only way to solve the problem, i am sure you can comprehend this?

CC, please provide specific examples of this so called corruption, and do spare us the penny anti shennanigans that went on in Denver. This is a trillion dollar industry.

I already did Nonads rolleyes.gif , for an example see link given in post 37 .

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7609597.stm

And here's a more in-depth article on the case;

http://www.wsws.org/articles/2008/sep2008/ener-s13.shtml

"Mr Devaney's investigation uncovered a "culture of substance abuse and promiscuity" by a small group of individuals "wholly lacking in acceptance of or adherence to government ethical standards"."

"The inspector general said that many of those questioned did not believe federal government ethics standards and department policies had applied to them because of their "unique" role."

"Between 2002 and 2006, according to the investigation, “nearly one-third of the entire RIK staff socialized with, and received a wide array of gifts and gratuities from, oil and gas companies with whom RIK was conducting official business.” These gifts included, among others things, meals, high-priced wines, golf outings, sporting event tickets, concert tickets, paintball games, concert tickets and a desert-island treasure hunt.

Investigators noted: “Employees frequently consumed alcohol at industry functions, had used cocaine and marijuana, and had sexual relationships with oil and natural gas company representatives.” Energy company reps reportedly referred to some of the government workers as the “MMS Chicks.”"

"In return for the gifts and other perks received from the oil and gas companies, RIK employees routinely allowed these companies to revise their bids for oil property leases. Of the 121 amendments to bids reviewed by the investigation, only three favored the government. The remaining 118 bid revisions amounted to $4.4 million in savings for the oil companies—i.e., funds that were not collected by the government."

etc.

But i guess in your eyes there's nothing wrong about years of substance abuse, promiscuity, and other illegal behavior like accepting gifts, and a complete lack of adherence and acceptance of government ethical standards overall, and it would be "fascist" to root such people out of the system rolleyes.gif ? I guess, all this, is just "shenanigans" in your eyes and you don't take seriously nor believe a complete lack of government ethic standards and adherence to government policies is anything to bat an eyelid at?

"The “culture of ethical failure” uncovered by the investigation resulted in financial gain for RIK employees as well as sweetheart deals for the energy companies with whom they did business. As one Royalty in Kind employee told investigators, their goal was to be “part of industry.”"

A "culture of ethical failure" describes well the cause of some of the biggest problems in America right now IMHO.

I disagree with you that the stuff that went on in Denver is simply "shenanigans". Its corruption right in your face. I don't need to come up with anymore cases, i've backed up my point. Do you deny that the culture of ethical failure at Denver is not corruption? You still haven't asked that question, weak.

Well I guess you won this one. It makes perfect sense to me that if a handful of bozos among the millions that are employed by the oil industry are corrupt the rest of those million plus employees are corrupt as well.

Following that logic you will also agree that all muslims are sub human scum because of a minority of muslim bozos have murdered over 10,000 people in cold blood over the last decade. Also, following that that logic, you will also agree that all black people are murderous neanderthals based again on the actions of a few.

I am glad we are finally in agreement here CC.

Thats your logic not mine Nonads. Don't try to strain your brain trying to think above your racist pig mindset, you should probably try to preserve your few remaining brain cells (actually on second thoughts, why don't you just slap yourself on the head?).

Wrong CC. You are tarnishing and grouping millions of people based on the actions of a few in Denver. Please explain how this is different from the claims I made..............
