Full Version: Dems Vs. Reps and taxes
Political Topics And Discussion > All Things Political > Economic Factors

I am looking for an unbiased opinion on an issue that I have long questioned but never receive a straight answer.

In general Democrats raise taxes and Republicans cut taxes, correct? Thus the conclusion is that republicans are more fiscally responsible than Democrats, correct?

The constant argument I hear, regarding the economy, between Dems. and Reps. is that if you vote Dem. you will see an increase in taxes that you have not seen since Clinton was in office.

My question is this... Who is paying for the war? Isn't this war costing us trillions upon trillions of dollars? Do our taxes pay for that?

If I have all my facts straight, It's my opinion that no matter who we elect, Dem. or Rep., we are forced to deal with higher taxes?

Is my thinking wrong?

Also I would like to know more about bot candidates, is there site I can go to that compairs and contrasts the candidates in an unbaised way?

Thank you for your time.

Do some research on the difference between conservatives and liberals on both Democrat and Republican sides of the isle. Googling can get you some answers and much better for you to store up your knowledge than what can be written in one thread.

The old conservative Democrats are now conservative Republicans because the liberal Democrats have taken over the party, but there are some conservative Democrats. Soros, an atheist leftist Jew, bragged in 2005 that he has bought the Democrat party and said he would spend his billions to destroy Bush....which the MSM has helped him do. They now favor Obama. His influence: MoveOn.Org, AFCLU, MediaMatters(although Hillary may have been more involved with this one), etc. There are liberal Republicans, as well. It's not really as simple as Democrats vs. Republicans.

Example: while President Bush was conservative on some issues, he was more of a liberal regarding finances. It's get really complicated.

Soros, an atheist leftist Jew,

You anti-semitic sack of SHEIT! No surprise that the SoloNazi wants to DEMONIZE Jews. That is what right wing radical Xian fundamentalists do. They say they support Israel but they don't support Jews. They just want to see Armageddon so they can get their 76 virgins in the afterlife; they are as evil and morally corrupt as fundy Islams. Both evil cancers.

Bush has run the biggest federal deficit in history. That is the republican record.
Bill Clinton balanced the budget.
Bush not only lied to us to go to war in Iraq, he ran our economy into the ground NOT paying for it, weaking our dollar, ruining our international reputation.
Throughout history, the US economy does much better with DEMOCRATS in power, not REPUBLICANS.

Not meaning to jump to Solo's rescue TQ, but she is correct, except for one little thing left out.

Soro's an atheist Socialist Ashkenazi Jew, to be perfectly accurate. Now how can you dare lie about what she is here? You haven't been looking in the mirror lately, have you. laugh.gif

The federal deficit hit $311 billion for the first half of fiscal year 2008, up from $162 billion the year before.

Now just for context TQ, as you never have any.

1943 deficit $-55,554 million 2007 = -$ 633,754.59 million
1975 deficit $-53,242 million 2007 = -$ 203,069.61 million
1982 deficit $-127,977 million 2007 = -$ 271,584.01 million
1983 deficit $-207,182 million 2007 = -$ 426,034.33 million
1985 deficit $-212,108 million 2007 = -$ 403,650.56 million
1986 deficit $-221,227 million 2007 = -$ 413,154.47 million
1990 deficit $-221,036 million 2007 = -$ 346,517.33 million
1991 deficit $-269,238 million 2007 = -$ 405,070.47 million
1992 deficit $-290,321 million 2007 = -$ 424,067.96 million
1993 deficit $-255,051 million 2007 = -$ 361,698.59 million
2004 deficit $-412,727 million 2007 = -$ 449,676.71 million

Bill Clinton balanced the budget.

TQ I know facts and evidence are not you valsaline, but PRESIDENTS DO NOT BALANCE BUDGETS, CONGRESS DOES or DOES NOT agree with the Prsidents Plan.
So look back and you will SEE, if they is possible, that Clintons so called balanced budgets DID NOT COME ABOUT UNTIL NEWT GINGRICH AND REPUBLICANS GAINED THE MAJORITY IN CONGRESS AND KEEP THEIR PROMISES IN THE CONTRACT WITH AMERICA.

That is all!!

Bush not only lied to us to go to war in Iraq, he ran our economy into the ground NOT paying for it, weaking our dollar, ruining our international reputation.

Better rething that TQ, if it is possible, Democrats have controlled Congress and both Congress and the Presidency near 75% of the time the last 120 years, I promise you their economic record is not one to crow about as if it had unqestionable the best record for good economic times. But hwta the hey, you never let truth and facts get into your rants and rails now do you. laugh.gif

Really, trader? I feel that you are putting the cart before the horse. Why did Congress agree with the President's plan?
