Reuters is reporting that John Kerry is against the release of his 1988 sealed divorce papers, "calling it old history that had nothing to do with anyone else."
Funny, but I actually agree with him on this- as long as the press no longer lingers on Bush's dental records. That would seem fair.

If releasing a republican congressmans divorce papers who is running for the senate is allowed, then releasing a senators papers who is running for president should also be allowed. No doubt about it. Lets not tollerate a double standard.

actually, I disagree with you here. Just because someone was able to extract the files from the Ryan divorce, does not mean that others should also. After all, two wrongs still do not make a right. If they do, who will they go after next. Perhaps you?
There is NO need to release this man's divorce papers. They are irrelevant. The simple answer to this for Kerry is to issue no comment, refuse to open the papers and move on.
In addition, I don't believe the American public want to see this avenue pursued.

I can say i agree with you in principle, but his democratic rivals got these sealed records leaked to the press during a campaign season. And he dropped out after it affected the way people saw him. AS A PUBLIC FIGURE, John Kerry is making himself available to the same scrutiny. This is not setting a precedent to impose on our rights as private citizens. This is going to be a brutal political season and the libs will be hitting hard in every district in the country. People recognize the difference between political debate and slander though. I have a feeling this election is going to be a blow out, and bush is going to win big.
