I was at the Daily Kos reading a diary, written by a member named bonddad, on the thoughts of what the Republican platform has mostly been made up of over the past years -- small government, support of free markets, party of fiscal responsibility, and personal responsibility.

Well bonddad makes an excellent point by saying that the Republicans can no longer ride this horse any longer. The public has them figured out.

Apparently those that think that the Democrats are socialists have never considered the frame of mind of a Republican

QUOTE (the author bonddad wrote)
If you are a fan of irony, consider this: The conservative movement has utterly hated FDR, and his New Deal programs like Medicaid, Social Security, FDIC, Fannie Mae (1938), and the SEC for nearly 80 years. And for the past 8 years, a conservative was in the White House, with a very conservative agenda. For something like 16 of the past 18 years, the conservative dominated GOP has controlled Congress. Those are the facts.

We now see that the grand experiment of deregulation has ended, and ended badly. The deregulation movement is now an historical footnote, just another interest group, and once in power they turned into socialists. Indeed, judging by the actions of the conservatives in power, and not the empty rhetoric that comes out of think tanks, the conservative movement has effectively turned the United States into a massive Socialist state, an appendage of Communist Russia, China and Venezuela....

Whenever a Republican talking head says they are for any of the above mentioned things they should be questioned to explain how that statement (I'm for free markets) jibes with banning short selling of an entire sector of the market. Whenever a Republican says he is for smaller government, have him explain the nearly doubling of discretionary spending when the Republicans controlled all branches of government.

Simply put, this week demonstrated how hollow many of the Republican values are. They sound great on paper, but aren't put into practice when that result might cause financial harm to another Republican.

Still living in your own little dreamland aren't you....................

If conservatism is dead why do the conservatives in the media continues to trounce the MSM in the ratings? Why do Limbaugh, Hanniity, and local conservative hosts continue to put the talk competition to shame in the Arbitrons? If conservatism is dead why did Air America go BK?

Conservatism is alive and well, just absent a leader at present. Haven't had one since Reagan.
So dream on Gizzard in your Kos induced stupor.

No. Actually you are. George Bush is intervening with the world of business. John McCain was against this initially; now, he is for it. laugh.gif How in the world can Republicans keep this up -- meaning their platform?

And take note:

Grizz, you've completely missed the concept of that post.

How dare you insult me by using the Daily Krap! You really think anyone would fall for the blithering emotional sapling's rambles? I thought the Libs were the touchy feely kind, Oi? wink.gif

I'm sorry, I just can't take anything from the Kos seriously. My time should be spent more wisely.

I'm going to quote Taco Bell when I say, "Think outside the Box." I'm not going to rethink my opinion because a "blogger" could string some reliable-sounding sentences together. Nay, I don't have time to research because the prospect is not worthwhile.

Now wipe the froth off your keyboard and get along you barmy git.

Maybe one that doesn't kindle ingnorant ire.

Markos Moulitsas, democratic consultant and webmaster of Dailykos.com

Where to start....

Four American Iraqi civilian contractors were going to work, they were ambushed and savagely killed by a gang of insurgents who shot them and dragged the bodies through cheering streets and dismembered them before hanging the corpses from a bridge.

What did Markos Moulitsas say? "I feel nothing over the death of the mercenaries. They aren't in Iraq because of orders, or because they are trying to help the people make Iraq a better place. They are there to wage war for profit. Screw them."

Cold, Mark, very cold. You think he actually feels passionate about the cause? The only 'cause' the Kos has is to hurt Bush in anyway possible, if that means insulting the deaths of a few civilian contractors - Sure!

Some may truely mourn, but many are betrayed by their own anger. To beleive innocent, but really tutored to a whim.

Some civilians are shot in cross fire? Great, Bush looks bad! Soldiers get killed during a car bomb? Great, Bush looks bad! Tragic story about a kid who lost her father overseas? Great, Bush looks bad!

When Bush brings elections to Iraq in early 2005 you'd expect there to be some credit given, not for Markos Moulitsas! "January was the third bloodiest month for U.S and allied troops. Will that cease now that Iraqis have voted? Nope.... The war will continue unabated."

Ouch! Somone get the muzzle this one is going off the rye!

And so in conclusion, The Daily Kos members are hollow shells that hark to 'Mark's every word. They care nought for truth, just to discredit George. What will happen when W is out of the White House? Hopefully they will fade into oblivion, or begin a worthwhile hobby - like stamp collecting.

And to the both of you:
Naw, I'm American. I just like to put alittle variety into my slang. wink.gif
Grizzly
That does sound bad about those mercenaries -- also known as contractors. rolleyes.gif But I do not know what to tell you: These people knew what they were getting involved with when they went over there; contractors had a choice; our soldiers didn't. Some of those people are making 500 to 1000 dollars a day just for security -- that was in a day, Foy. huh.gif ohmy.gif

In addition there are reports that plain Iraqi citizens are telling us that warrants investigation, but you will not read it at 'Freedom Thinker' or 'Flopping Aces'.

Such stories as this.

QUOTE
Justice Dept. Moves Toward Charges Against Contractors in Iraq Shooting
By Del Quentin Wilber and Karen DeYoung
Washington Post Staff Writers
Sunday, August 17, 2008; A01

Federal prosecutors have sent target letters to six Blackwater Worldwide security guards involved in a September shooting that left 17 Iraqi civilians dead, indicating a high likelihood the Justice Department will seek to indict at least some of the men, according to three sources close to the case.

The guards, all former U.S. military personnel, were working as security contractors for the State Department, assigned to protect U.S. diplomats and other non-military officials in Iraq. The shooting occurred when their convoy arrived at a busy square in central Baghdad and guards tried to stop traffic.

An Iraqi government investigation concluded that the security contractors fired without provocation. Blackwater has said its personnel acted in self-defense.

The sources said that any charges against the guards would likely be brought under the Military Extraterritorial Jurisdiction Act, which has previously been used to prosecute only the cases referred to the Justice Department by the Defense Department for crimes committed by military personnel and contractors overseas. Legal experts have questioned whether contractors working for the State Department can be prosecuted under its provisions.

The sources cautioned that prosecutors are still weighing evidence gathered in a 10-month investigation that began shortly after the shootings. A federal grand jury has heard testimony from about three dozen witnesses since November, including U.S. and Blackwater officials and Iraqis, according to two of the sources.

Target letters, often considered a prelude to indictment, offer suspects the opportunity to contest evidence brought before the grand jury and give their own version of events. The letters were sent this summer, although the sources, who agreed to discuss the case only on the condition of anonymity because of its sensitivity, said a final decision on whether to indict may not be made until October, about a year after the incident...

EDIT: Additionally, you ask a common foot soldier if they make that kind of money in a day; go ahead, ask one; see what they say. dry.gif

Once again you have managed to completely miss the meaning of my post. And you have the audacity to divert attention in an attempt to save your sorry beczka. Rule #19 of debating like a ninny, was it? How droll you are making this.

This is not about whether the contractors were there for the right reasons, this is about doing and saying anything to discredit Bush, and the Daily Kos in general.

The thing is, now stay with me, is that The Daily Kos is not a good source. It is embedded in the far left, bias, Anti-Bushism of 'Mark. Countless times they have lied in their blind stupor, these are just bloggers you know, not professional reporters(and yet somehow they manage to screw up royally.) You cannot trust every scrap of a sentence you get.

I will not trust a source that doesn't even try to question Obama's relationship with Reverend Wright, but I have only quickly searched. Alas, I have not found anything.

Furthermore I do not know of 'Freedom Thinker' or 'Flopping Aces', nor have I ever used them so that point means nothing.

This debate is worth a nicker and nothing more. I don't know why I bother, but at least it is a fun jest.

And to Solo:This is like therapy, quite fun really.

Really? I beg to differ.

QUOTE (Foy)

I beg to differ again. And I'll prove it. popcorn.gif (Anyways, you proceed with the following...)

QUOTE (Foy)
This is not about whether the contractors were there for the right reasons, this is about doing and saying anything to discredit Bush, and the Daily Kos in general.
First to touch up on what you initially wrote, Foy: Why in the world would I wish to discredit Bush AND the Daily Kos? Think about it. Care to re-write that for clarity? 025.gif Additionally, you're wrong about me saying anything about Bush; you're the first one to even mention his name in this particular argument between you and me. Don't believe me? Do a search in this thread and find out yourself. Or I'll do it for you. Go here.

My subject was about the author that made that subject at the Daily Kos, and how much I agreed with him on it -- about the way that Republicans have been using a platform of small government, support of free markets, party of fiscal responsibility, and personal responsibility, for a long period of time, and how they can no longer keep riding that horse, seeing that our economy is in the predicament that it is in. (Important institutions of business falling apart and the NANNY STATE isn't intervening for them? Yet George Bush increases the size of government by helping these enities out. But that's OK. John McCain was against the idea before he was for it. laugh.gif And the real irony of this predicament is, the commercial that I saw from John McCain and the GOP on TV today -- telling us about the way that Obama is going to increase the size of government! rolleyes.gif The sheer audacity!)

And how did you respond to the topic I introduced? Look at your first two postings; they depict the usual zig-zag ramblings of a particular conservative -- if you have nothing to say than get emotional and attack the person that brought forth the topic.

You're scared and should be. The GO P's platform is sinking like the bottom of a boat and no one is bailing.

QUOTE (Foy)
You really think anyone would fall for the blithering emotional sapling's rambles? I thought the Libs were the touchy feely kind, Oi? wink.gif
I do believe I made my point that we are not what you FEEL we are. G'Day! wink.gif

Apologies, I am the first one to admit that I am not always very articulate. Let me rephrase that:

This is not about the contractors, this is about the Daily Kos and its biased, liberal bloggers who follow their leader, 'Mark, like a lost puppy.

They do not care about facts, they don't care if we, y'know kill the people who send us death threats. All they(Daily Kos, your prissy tenet.) care about is discrediting Bush and Republicans.

Clear enough? Good.

Grizzly, re-read our little row. You will find my sarcastic comment, your proclaimed higher leverage, then explanation on my part, you titter, I lay it down, you get in a tizzy and and few posts later here we are.

How we got off topic, speaking for myself, I am just plain tired of liberal members such as yourself trotting the Daily Kos around like a high bred show dog. Which in reality, if you take away the cotton balls and glue, it is just a a loud brazen parrot. You were just the lucky dickens that I decided to post here.

And your still ignoring the accusations I brought up, or have you just thrown them away in a blind arrogant jest?

Republicans are scared? Excuse me? Take a gander, Grizz, I don't remember republicans freaking out over Obama's VP pick.

Remember when our loveable TQ went, so to say, a mile a minute? Post ratio was two new topics a day, all about one women. He sure took that news calm, wish I had that composure, I'd be set dude.

I care nought for opinions. That is, I don't care about the original post.
